Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”
How do you respond (in character)? (250 word minimum - please make sure to include at least three references to our lore in your response, with two coming from different pages in the Compendium. NOTE: Ty'thar and Maemir come to the Southern Reach together, so their responses are very similar :)
Maemir smiles warmly at the woman, “We want to start anew, life in the Ashlands has become unbearably harsh.” She begins, “Supposedly my ancestors were from the Reach, Aedalls, so I felt this was the place for us.”
“We?” The woman asks. Ty'thar, holding his abdomen in his groans of pain, peers over the fae between them and looks at the woman endearingly, giving a slight wave. Ty reads the elderly woman’s curiosity, “We had a bit of a scuffle with a Faun not too long ago.. I'm still recovering.” he looks down from the woman and zones off for a split second, then chuckles, embarrassed at his own predicament.
“Oh yeah, it was a real mess, you shoulda seen him when it happened! Horn nowhere to be seen, black all over the place.” Mae shifts at the uncomfortable memory, “And that's precisely why we left!” She glances back at Ty’thar, “Fire’s Blessings we made it out alive.” ‘Since I've met Ty'thar, it's felt like I should never be away from him,’ Mae thinks as her counterpart continues with the woman, ‘My mother was a strong believer in the Zodiac, always telling stories of the stars and what they mean to us. As a Duel, she was confident that one day a sibling would be born to be my second half, but that never happened. My belief in the Zodiac was weak until my parents passed, and I found myself inseparable from Ty’thar, another Duel.’
“Hm.. Fire’s Blessings. Why does that sound familiar?” The woman thinks about it for a moment. “We’re both Fireborne, Fire’s Blessings is an expression we use.” Ty winces for a second and then gathers himself. “Me and Mae here damn near grew up together in the Ashlands. Experienced a lot together...” Mae and Ty’thar share a glance with a small spark in their eyes. “We made the decision to leave the Ashlands together and in turn wound up well..” He looks down at the abrasions covering his chest and back up. Mae interjects with a cheerier tone, “But the Reach will be better for us!!”

Brief Physical Description: 4'9, with pale, rose skin and darkened fingertips. Her eyes are practically black, similar to her long, deep-red hair that she keeps tied in a braid.
