EMISSARY

Fishermen working north of the Spire-town talk of yet more unfamiliar vessels nearing their homes. Whether it is one or several, their designs are foreign. They circle the island off the coast of the Reach like sharks, they say, searching for a place to disembark. By night, they glow in pale red lantern light. By day, their gilded hulls gleam and illuminate their strange square lugsails.

The setting western sun shines on scarlet banners bearing one symbol: a horned serpent.
