OOC
Minecraft Username: Messtro
Are you at least 18 years old?: I am! I turned 25 this year.
Have you read the rules?: I did. I like how it’s sectioned up into the various categories and it makes it easier to read them.
(Optional) How did you hear about Avalore?: A friend told me about Avalore.
(Max. 1) Were you referred by someone? If so, please provide their in-game username: MustCarryOn/Bean was the one to refer me.
(Optional) Introduce yourself if you’d like, as well as any creations you want to share (e.g. art, builds, skins): Well, I’m not that great at introductions but a lot of folks call me Ness besides Messtro since that was my username before my account got randomly corrupted and I had to get a new MC account. I dabble in doing interior decorating and writing a lot of the time in my free time.

In-Character
Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”
How do you respond (in character)? (250 word minimum - please make sure to include at least three references to our lore in your response, with two coming from different pages in the Compendium. Two of the three selected should also be in-depth, avoid simply name-dropping lore terms. Tie the terms into your character's backstory. Why are they important to them?) As a heads up, I really, really tried to incorporate as much as I could. My brain just began to get scrambled upon reading so many pages.
After a near topple over to the side from the bumpy wagon, and with how hard the River Fey-Touched Mistan jerked towards the kindly older woman. She blinks once, then a second time before flushing a deep red color beneath the scales upon her cheeks as she clasps her hands against the bag atop her lap. “Is…Is it that obvious? Oh who am I kidding, of course it is.” She’s embarrassed with how easy it is to tell how new she was at traveling.
“I’m uh. I’m setting off on something that some Mistan’s do. A rite of passage, of sorts…I hail from the Mist Isles, I’m from a place near Sirensong y’see.” She nervously begins picking at one of the scales on the back of her blue stained hands as her gaze once again shifts to look over the passing lands as they traveled upon the wagon.
“Anyway- I wanted to stay true to my family’s roots of adventuring out and returning after I find a unique item. And I heard of the Reach being a relatively newer place. Or, well that’s what the older Falstoner mentioned to me when I met one at the docks during my break of making my small ship to sail off.” A nervous laugh escapes her, melodical all the while as she focuses back on the older woman. “So I set out here, landed a little bit off and now I’m behind on schedule.”
After a moment longer of nervous fidgeting despite her cheerful disposition and sing-song like voice, as if she was trying to wave off all the bad karma so far. “I guess this is what happens when you don’t make a proper offering to Siren Serene? Or maybe just bad luck. I thought helping those stuck turtles in the net from the folks who were overdoing it was good enough. Maybe…Maybe not.” But soon enough she pats her legs once, then a second time. “Either way! I’m well on my way now to uhm. That little place by the…the Spire.” With that, she quiets down, once again staring off at the moving flora and fauna, letting her answer sit in the air between them for a while as she plays with her long hair.
“...Thanks for speaking with me, some folks have given me weird looks. Maybe it’s the oddity of where I come from or. Uhm. The Fey…touch stuff. But I’m harmless, really.” The deep blue eyes she had shifted to the older woman once more along with a smile.
“Here’s to a good start, yes?”
