Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”

Hekarion paused for a moment and debated on how much he wanted to tell the old woman. She seemed kind enough, but he was still nervous. He flipped his helm around in his hands, discontent with it being missing from his head. If it wasn’t for that tavern’s policy at Albern crossing, he would never have taken it off in the first place. Regardless, he felt there was no harm in telling the old woman the truth. “My father.” He started, shortly before letting out a small sigh. “Rather, his stories I suppose. He’s a traveling merchant, by trade, and would come home telling me the stories and fables of the distant lands.” His face creased slightly in a small smile “We are from Aisin, if you have heard of it. In the far north of the Ko’Ram Lands. I always thought it was large but… nothing like the Spire from what I can already see. He found me on his travels as a child, a wild thing living in the forests here in the Southern Reach.” He was barely even checking to see if the old woman was remotely interested at this point, but now he was too far into the story to stop. “He brought me back to Aisin and raised what was left of me in my youth as his own. Never quite fit in, for obvious reasons if you’ve ever met a Korami.” He chuckled painfully at his own joke “Learning Elvish is not easy, and my accent in it shows even now, over a decade since I was adopted there. I lost my clan as a child, so I couldn’t even fit in with the few Greatlings that inhabited the outskirts of the town near the mountain edges.”
He paused and finally looked up from the helm in his hands and met her eyes “He told me the story of the Lady of the Lake, here in the Southern Reach...” His eyes had a passion behind them now. “When I was a child, living on my own in the forests, I swear I would hear a woman’s voice deep in the forests guiding me onwards and helping to keep me alive.” Another slight pause, then a slow grin. “I still hold that I am not insane, and so I decided then to come here and try to find her. Find my childhood again.” He shrugged, his plate and leather drapery over it making a slight scraping sound with the movement “I figured the best place to start is in the Spire.”

Brief Physical Description: A large, tall man with features fitting of his race, a kinder face than most would imagine and a shock of blonde hair on his head, Hekarion can stand out easily in a crowd. Though more often, it is because of the armor he wears and the helmet he rarely if ever removes around others. Wearing half plate and multi layered leather and gambeson in the forest green he grew up in, his full helm garners more attention for the antlers sticking out of either side.
