Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”
How do you respond (in character)? Kyrus looks to the old woman, smiling brightly back at her with a spark of adventure behind his eyes. "Why did I come to the reach? Why wouldn't I! I hear so many stories about this place from my home in The Pearl Coast about all sorts of adventures that occur out here." He said giving an enthusiastic nod. "Oh the mystery of The Spire and the vanished Aedall is a big reason as well I suppose. How do a people up and vanish like that?! All at once! And now a city has taken over their home? What's not to love! My parents always said to be curious and learn, so here I am, doing that. Now, I gotta ask, do many people like me come here? Mistans? Do many speak Afkayna like me? Oh! And how are scholars treated? What with the marvel and wonder The Spire evokes I'm sure they are common! I heard there are even floating crystals... Is that true?! Also are curses really common around here? I swear I heard that somewhere... Ah well thank you for your time, I have to go explore this magical land and see for myself!" Kyrus left the old woman without even waiting to hear what she had to say, why would he? He had much to discover with all the new land he has arrived to. Perhaps he will learn the arcane, seeking to dig deeper into the mysteries of the land. Or maybe a fable will catch his eye and he will seek to follow a certain one. Not that he didn't already fully believe in the Siren Serene given his origin. What was to be seen of this man? Who knew but the time that was ahead of him...
