Minecraft Username: Behindbush
Are you at least 18 years old?: Yup, actually 24
Have you read the rules? (Link): Yup
(Optional) How did you hear about Avalore?: I was looking for some new RP server and found it on MinecraftServers.org, buried deep within!
(Max. 1) Were you referred by someone? If so, please provide their in-game username: Nope
(Optional) Introduce yourself if you’d like, as well as any creations you want to share (e.g. art, builds, skins): Hey there! I'm coming from the other, big Minecraft roleplay server to have some fresh experience and try something new! I've never really played any DnD or TTRPG, but been roleplaying for some time, long time ago in some GTA, 2 years ago found out that Minecraft actually has some cool RP community and fell in love with it! Privately I'm a designer and a corpo-rat, living by the Polish coast. Minecraft-RP-wise, I really like creating narratives for people, not limitng myself to the most mundane RP; as well as doing some nice builds, yet I'm no pro at it.
Side note: I'm resubmitting this whitelist app, as the previous one was deemed AI-Generated and instantly denied, most likely due to my usage of GPT to translate the in-character response from my native language into English in attempt to make it more concise and pleasing quality-wise (also faster for me to write lmao); the overall story and content is fully mine, as well as the research done about the server's lore. I've rewritten it all myself this time; let me know if you have any concerns!

In-Character
Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”
How do you respond (in character)? (250 word minimum - please make sure to include at least three references to our lore in your response, with two coming from different pages in the Compendium. Two of the three selected should also be in-depth, avoid simply name-dropping lore terms. Tie the terms into your character's backstory. Why are they important to them?)
Sylara sits stiff on the wagon’s groaning bench, the pioneers’ talk grows silent on the wind as her thoughts turn to her time in the Vale of the Fallen’s isolated Falstoner camps, dissociating from the surrounding turmoil. Some isolated valley on the wind, expanses of the Faded Steppe where ancient rock formations scarred by cryptic runes and beset on all sides by impenetrable mist - stand as silent sentinels about whispered gates to the Ether. Those formations throbbed with rumored supernatural force in her youth, a force of inter-realm passage stoked the superstitious fears kept upon her.
The warm, wrinkled smile of the older woman breaks through her daydreaming, and Sylara’s eyes blink shut as her demeanor stiffens all the more, her gaunt face set in an impassive mask as she looks at the stranger warily with her depthless purple eyes. Her black branches growing straight up out of her skull swayed subtly, as glittering blue blossoms shimmered gently in the movement of the wagon, an outward-from-a-distance signal of her half-fey nature that has forever set her apart as an outsider, an explanation for her seclusion - at least until now.
"Nervous?" She echoed dryly, betraying little of the inner turbulent maelstrom "Perhaps" The girl admitted, eyes glazing as she looked at the horizon, hands firmly clasped in her lap to conceal any shiver "I’ve come to preserve - that’s all." She then fell silent for a prolonged while, voice tinged with ice, as if divulging even this small thing is too much of a confession "My father abandoned me the moment I was born, not being able to stand the sight of the thing his union with my Fey-Touched mother had created. And she..." A remorse-filled gaze lowered to the wooden floor of the wagon "She died some time ago in a brutal Greatling raid on our camp, those giant mountain people dropping down upon us like a storm, their massive frame and unbending power breaking our feeble defenses in a night of terror and gore. That travesty cut the final threads on the old life I had clinging to me, so I had no choice but go run southward, passing over The Wall into this damned, desolate land." Her head was shaken as the trace of a frown crossed her features, grasping that perhaps just too much had been learned about her.
The fey-touched half-breed glanced towards the sprawling fields of The Reach once more... The Great Disappearance, that apocalyptic moment fifty years ago when the mystical Aedall people just dissolved without remnant from the Southern Reach, their towering spires and cities falling into ruined workings overgrown now with the echo of lingering magic and unknown perils - a macabre draw for survivors as her. It formed this vast wilderness of opportunity and danger now stretching before the procession, where the remnants of an extinct civilization provide little shelter but require constant wariness. The only thing she sees now i a place she knows very little about apart from the legends.
"I’ve no illusions of grand destinies or easy alliances in the Reach" Sylara contributes, confronting the woman’s gentle eyes with hard determination "Here among strangers and rubble, I’ll scrape up whatever life’s left - nothing more" So at least she believed as she said it wth some imperceptible signal, that’s she’s had enough talk.
