The Lady Steward hereby proclaims the following to the  denizens of the Spire,

On the Matter of Van Pelt and Bounty

Following offenses committed within the Spire’s borders, Van Pelt has been found guilty of assaulting a citizen and shooting another in the leg after provocation. Enzo, as an accomplice in this incident, is likewise included in the ruling. By agreement with the Council of the Spire, both are currently bound to bring the freshly-turned known as Dinah before The Gauntlet.

It is understood that some may view this ruling as imbalanced or lenient. To those who hold such concerns, the Lady Steward and Constable wish to emphasize that great care was taken to weigh the nuance of the situation—an approach many previously felt absent from The Gauntlet’s penancing. Context, capacity, intent, and consequence were all considered, as they must be when striving for fair and restorative judgment.

In line with past precedent—such as Aoi’s mandated service under Marshal Umeneri, or the Black Fins’ negotiations for temporary privateering contracts—the Van Pelts have been granted a structured opportunity to repay their offense in a manner fitting their abilities. This approach not only enforces accountability but also directs their skills toward a constructive and service-oriented end.

This agreement is made public so that the matter is neither hidden nor quietly dismissed. All citizens and concerned parties are welcome to coordinate or collaborate regarding the pursuit of Dinah’s bounty.

Ongoing Referendum 

As promised in the Stewardship & Council Charter, a referendum is currently under way. 

Citizens may vote on whether to:

1. Maintain the current government, or
2. Revert to the former Circle of Four.

The poll will remain open until the end of Harrowing 23, announced on Harrowing 24 (December 1st).

Upcoming Frosted Faire

Should the Seneschalty remain in place following the referendum’s results, Lady Steward Noctis will begin coordinating efforts and conducting interest checks on attractions for a Frosted Faire. The Hallowed Faire was a resounding success. A few of the attractions currently in consideration are:

• Costume Contest (Async)
• Tree Decoration Contest (Async)
• The Toasty Tangle (Async maze)
• Frosty Finds (Async scavenger hunt)
• Drinking Contest (Gambling/Alcoholism)
• Tavern & Gift Delivery (Casual RP)
• Snow Fights (Teams)
• Snowball Shot (Shooting at a Frosty Snowman)
• Wheel o’ Woe (Gambling, but as a peppermint wheel)
• Penguin Pens (Nature, corral the fellas)
• The Gifting Tree (RNG, low-stakes)
• Sled Race (Racing down a hill on sled)
• Lanterns of the Long Night (Small ceremony, wishes for the new year)
• Wreath Toss (Ranged)
• Blitz on the Ice (Ice-skate racing)
• Icicle Bouts (Duels with icicles)

Notably, not all of these attractions may make it in. It vastly depends on interest and available volunteers! But this is a teaser at what to potentially expect. Rather than two days as The Hallowed Faire was, the hope is to host this across three days (holidays and employment allowing).

Albern Crossing Enters the Fold

As of Harrowing 19 of 1641, Albern Crossing has formally joined the Seneschalty of the Southern Reach. It is a settlement that is under their protection, and is a place seeking farmers and other interested homesteaders to help expand it. You may read of the technicalities of it, in the Albern-Spire Concord (HERE).

OOC NOTE; The intention is to paste in the new build this weekend, some time! ARM Regions for it will be created later, and able to be purchased via raffle. A Google Form will be posted, where players can indicate which properties they are most interested in. Then, they will be drawn at random and given to them. You may only get one property, so make sure you list your choices in order when the form is up. This will be explained in the announcement for the raffles!
