Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”

*The girl's cold eyes fell upon the lady. She pulled her hood down further, covering her face even more, her posture firm.*
"I used to live with my family. We were a small clan, of no more than fifteen, living in the Ashlands."
*Remembering her past, the girl sighed, continuing.*
"One day, a weird disease took almost everyone in the clan. Some heard about the Spirit of the Red Dragon, and in their despair and sickness, tried to build a small temple. They gave offerings to the Spirit, pleading for health and strength in return. But despite their efforts, the sickness remained. Hurt, dying, and with nothing to be done, some of my people decided to go through the Dragon's Tongue Pass, on the Eastern border, to end their suffering. Those who decided to just let death take them, too weak for the journey, isolated themselves instead. They didn't want me to get sick too, keeping their distance."
*She paused for a moment. She'd been taught to never leave her family, yet here she was. Forced, for whatever that was worth anymore. It wasn't an easy topic.*
"They forced me to go, to find a new place to live. I had to obey. At first, I considered the Duchy of Rulan, but when I heard about the Reach, I figured it'd be better."
*She gave a weak smile, barely there, but filled with hope and set with determination.*
"For those who passed, I refuse to dishonor them. I'll be the warrior I was trained to be, protecting those in need, and maybe I'll find a place I can call home again. A rich land, where I can start from scratch, without being plagued by so many bad memories, without the moans and cries of agony..."
*She covers her face again, overcome by emotion. She didn't want to be recognized, but then, there's nobody left who even would. Everything's gone. Everyone.*
"I'll be better. And nobody will feel like this again."
