Edrin Vale shook in his seat. It was clear he was nervous.
"Stop shaking the carriage, boy."
His gaze drifts to the horizon, where the plains seemed to stretch endlessly
“Ive heard legends about this place, the southern reach."
The old lady did not reply, simply looking out the window of the carriage just as Edrin did.
He pulls a folded map from his satchel, worn thin at the creases.
"Most people see this land as an opportunity for land, gold or a fresh trade, I see gaps in the market for maps"
“Most people see opportunity here. Land, trade, a fresh start. I see gaps. Old records from before the Great Disappearance don’t match what travelers describe now. Roads that should exist don’t. Landmarks are… wrong, or missing entirely.”
His finger taps near the southern edge of the parchment.
He folds the map again, more carefully this time.
