I'm Valentijn/Kaasfondue from the Netherlands. I do a lot of manual labour in Minecraft, making big wheat farms and the likes, jokingly roleplaying as a farm boy. In a previous SMP I challenged myself to creating as big a field as possible while getting pvp'd (DiplomaticaMC) https://streamable.com/jsh72j .On a normal SMP with protection claims (Altitude) I had the following build of the bridge and wheat island: https://streamable.com/iem3ug
I never played on a proper roleplay server but I do want to dabble into that. I played some DnD in the past and this seems to fit in a similar vibe, looks cool!

In-Character
Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”
How do you respond (in character)?
I am taken aback, strangers want things from me? "I don't think you want to know my life's story, safe to say I had to leave my hometown before it was too late and these lands can maybe give me some purpose."
The lady pauses for a second, then responds with a fair "Well, we still have some way to go, you can tell some of your story?"
I mean, what do I have to lose anyway, I came here to change things I have nothing to hide since no one knows me here. With a bit more enthousiasm I continue: "I really couldn't stay in my home village, I was supposed to marry a girl I don't love, and if that had happened I could have never gone and searched for answers that I know are out there"
Quickly I pause. Wait, do I spill the beans? What if I start shit? I don't want to get in trouble because maybe this guy had some grievances? Well, doesn't matter now, send it: "There was this urban legend by the village drunk of ours. He spoke of giant mountain people with strange, cat-like eyes. The stories got him mocked by everyone and I grew up to ignore him. The stories were older than me and I never thought much of it. But a while ago I met someone that made me rethink that.
As soon as I said giant mountain people she grinned, I think she knows something... Am I just imagining things now? "Who'd you meet?" she asked.
I continue: "There was this guy named I met at a rave, and he told me he came from the lands we are going to right now, or at least I hope this is the place.
I don't think this lady knows what a rave is, I don't think they have our music in these lands
"Do you know what a rave is? I asked, knowing the answer"
She shakes her head
"Basically a loud and rowdy party with new music, where I come from it really is something for the young people. When I left I promised my buddies that i'd wear the rave outfit with pride, to represent and share the music and lifestyle with the people I'd meet on the way, I guess you're my first hahaha."
Never have I seen a look this confused in my life, I really am in foreign lands. I guess I can play open book, if Jack gets in trouble so be it.
"Anyway, I met this guy named Jack, and he was just as confused as you seem right now at the whole thing, but he seemed to enjoy it, I think he smiled from the moment I met him up until he turned away from me when he left hours later, it was the strangest thing. One thing that stuck with me is that he spoke of this huge pillar with unknown origins that you can see from far far away. A spiral thing?
"The Spire?" The lady asks. My heart skips a beat, oh fuck, it's real, this is really happening. "Yes!" I shout a bit too loud.
"And you say his name was Jack? And he couldn't stop smiling?" She says with a grin. "Yeah?" I respond.
"Hahahaha slim chance his name was Jack, he is probably a Walljack, even though we call them Jacks. Rowdy people so no surprise he liked your party!"
Smart play Jack, I don't even know your name so you won't be found out. But these lands are very real. Could these mountain giants be real?
"So that spire is real?" I ask. "Oh yeah, can't miss it." She responds. "Well, only one way to find out, I guess I'll visit, thanks!"
I can't get too invested in this lady, have to stay on my toes a little bit. I'm still not buying these mountain giants, no shot, but maybe this spire structure will shake things up. Damn I almost forgot I was really really tired...
