The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”

"Why have I come to this forsaken place?" pondered he as that question was hurled at him. "Because, mayhaps, my fortunes shall be more prosperous in the lands of the Reach." admitted Avartagh with a obvious hint of shame in his voice. "For my fortunes have failed me back home in the lands of the flower-fields of the Duchy of Rulan! That is why you old crone who grins at my misery!" the disgraced elderly squire pointed at the elderly woman whom was comfortably seated with the most sheepish grin he had ever seen upon her visage. Oh! How he wished to swipe it off her! "I wish to become a knight . . . A knight, damn you! A knight of the Lady of the Lake! But alas, my spurs disappeared from my grasp as swiftly as the Aedall disappeared from this mortal coil." Alarchphendefig of Rulan contemplated for a moment if he should continue on, why was he ranting his grievances to this old crone, anyhow? She did not deserve it . . . Yet, neverthless something in him compelled the disgraced squire to continue on. "I disgraced myself . . . I lost all my winnings gambling, and not having the virtue to admit my poverty to my master, I resorted to criminal activities. He found out . . . and I fled in disgrace! I have nowhere else to go, you damnable crone. I had to reach the frontier. To make my life a new! Though, likely . . . I will simply succumb to my villainy oncemore. This time, however, me thinks . . . I shall not flee from the consequences of my actions. That is why I am here. Now, show me the way to the nearest inn, damn you! You've pestered me long enough as is! Ignore the fact that we are inside a moving wagon as of the moment, eh? . . . I still require a inn!"

Brief Physical Description: Alarchphendefig was your typical Valkian, with long brown hair and grey eyes. He is around 5'7 and wears rather colorful garb befitting his formerly station as a squire, although it has seen better times and is not in the best of conditions. He always looks rather grim, and his formerly muscular build has deteoriated in part due to malnourishment.
