Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”

The greatling's slitted gaze shifted to the elderly woman. "Duty." He responded simply. "As well as paying an old friend a visit, I suppose. Us black-bloods have to stick together after all." He chuckled, a low rumbling sound, and raised a hand to shade his view as he looked out over the plains. He seemed to be searching the horizon for something in the direction they came from. "The wall was quite impressive. I am sure it has many stories to tell." A smile touched his lips. "Walls are beautiful things. Symbols of resilience, of a certain.. will to survive. One can tell much about a people from the wall that shelters those that live within it." He turned back to the woman. "Wouldn't you agree?"
He didn't wait for an answer. Rather, he stood slowly and hopped off of the wagon, beginning to walk alongside before continuing to speak.
"My people have a saying: 'The Dragon weighs not your wounds, but how often you stood despite them." He paused, seeming to give a brief moment for the words to take hold. "My people have many sayings, I suppose, but this one I carry with me." His gaze seemed to harden as he looked forward. As if suddenly focusing on what he has deemed a very important task. A hand drifted to a ruby pendant that hung loosely at his belt. "I come here because it is my duty to show others why those words are so important. To teach."
Finally the giant fell silent long enough to give the woman a chance to respond.
