In-Character
Read the following prompt:

The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.

“Nervous?”

You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.

“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.

“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”

The snow-haired Stonerunner turned towards the woman sitting by her hip, swaying with the wagon's movements like a tree in the wind, and spoke with the quiet rumble of a distant waterfall. Although her Common was quite good, it remained heavily accented by the grumbling tones of the Greatling tongue. "My first time? No, hardly. But... The longest journey, to be sure." Twisting in her seat, she pointed a great arm in the direction of the rising sun. "Home is beyond that horizon, in the Amafells, but also..." The arm lowered slightly, waving to encompass a swatch of land. "There, on the steppes. But beyond..." She turned back towards the west, intrigue and apprehension mingling in her eyes as she stared at the caravan stretching ahead of them. "Beyond is... a new adventure. Whether good or ill, the stars only know."

As the cart creaked on, the Greatling passed the time sharing her story, chatting easily with the cart of strangers despite her comical misfit in the small space. Occasionally, she would pause to answer questions or offer a clarification, but as the tale continued, she soon fell into a rolling, lyrical rhythm without interruption.

"My tribe, the Wolfang, live on the western slopes overlooking the valleys and plains. When the snows come, we are cut off into the sky, and when they melt, we are free to join the outside world. And so, we live between worlds, half in tradition and isolation and half in freedom and curiosity. So too are our people split, some favoring one and others the other..." Her expression soured slightly with the grim remark, "Even... among kin."

"My mother, Fryja Stormsinger, matriarch of the Wolfang, is one of the staunchest holders-of-tradition among those who grip tradition with fists of stone. She has led with strength and wisdom alike, in the same way as her grandmother who led the tribe to safety on the mountain after the terrible flood. My elder sister, also, is cut from the same granite, so it was long expected that one day she would take our mother's place. And when I was born under the Knight after her Duel, it was known that I would dutifully stand by her right hand and cast my voice for hers." A mischievous twinkle sparked in her pale-blue eyes as a satisfied grin tugged at the corner of her mouth. "But if it was so well-known, someone neglected to share it with the stars, for when my Fara ended and I knelt before the Diviner, she did not see my star in lock-step, but wandering freely." A hearty laugh rumbled out then, shaking the timbers of the wagon and startling the horses. "My mother... She is not accustomed to being denied and she raged right terrible, but the traditional rite had spoken. And spoken true, for what she did not know was that, during the previous Frostfade, I chanced upon the Fallstoners in the valley celebrating their own Budding Festival and made arrangements to join their Star Seers when next they passed. They did not come the next melt, nor the next, but when they came for the third, I was fully a woman grown, and so even should the elders protest, they could not forbid."

"I travelled with the Seers for a while - first a curiosity, then part of their cloth - and learned many things. I learned to sing and dance, of herblore and healing practices, how to kiss a woman scarcely half my size... But there was one thing more I wished to learn, that of the divine-touched gardeners, they who care for the wild plants and animals of the world. The Seers are a generous and amiable people, but they have their needs and routes to cover, so they could not stay in one place long enough for me to find and train under a master, and it is said that one can find anything that exists within the great cities. So, once again, I travel alone, but now with my steps guided by well-wishers at my back. When I greet them again, I hope to do so with more stories and songs on my lips."

Image of Skin and Figura Model:

Hello! My name is Merry and I’ll be reviewing your whitelist application. I have a question regarding Thylfin’s older sister. The position of Matriarch isn’t hereditary, but is an elected position, so is the expectation that she will someday lead based upon popularity within the clan and among the heads of the families?

In addition, and this is mostly because I’m  not on my computer, but could you attach an image of what the skin looks like on the model? If you don’t have blockbench, NameMC is a good place to get a screenshot from.

Thank you!

Hello, Merry! Yes, that is correct, like small-town politics where one mayor "just so happens" to be the son and grandson of the last two mayors.... I'll reword my response rq to make that a little more clear.

And sure thing! It's nothing particularly fancy, just something I churned out over a couple hours yesterday, but it'll suffice for now.

Thank you! Your application looks good now, but the skin will need to be changed a little to make the skin tone more of a grey color, and unless you wish to change her to half Arsa Sidhe, her eyes will need to be more grey as well.

Alright, I can do that no problem!

@MerryLights This work better?

It's better, but at this point its purple-y enough that you would need to say that Thylfin is half Arsa Sidhe, which would make her build a little smaller.

Hmm, let me just try starting the skin parts over. It's supposed to be that slate-blue example from the concept art sheet.

@MerryLights I figured out how to directly pull the base color from the canon art, so that should be better. Greys are hard to shade, so it's a little weird-looking, but again, just a basic thing to be able to check out the server for the first time.

I'm not the best at Minecraft skins, but another Mentor, EemaTidesong, has offered to help. Would you mind joining the discord and messaging them so they can help you?
