(Optional) Introduction: Hi! I'm Clover, resident scaley and resounding sci-fi and fantasy enjoyer. I do a myriad of things ranging from games, streaming, some weird art forms and skin making, but if I tried to shove it all here it'd get cluttered very fast. My first love though is TTRPGS and a combination of writing and designing for them. Tones and Themes of monstrosity, cruelty, social culture, and what it means to be 'human' usually permeate characters I write for or play!

Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”

Hynaq’s thumbs dance back and forth in solemn thought, looking out upon the rolling hills and distant mountains that remind them of home and how far they are from it. The gentle bounce in the back of the wagon almost soothing as background sensation to the myriad questions before they are brought back to reality, doing a brief double take amongst the other wagon inhabitants to lock in upon the kindly old woman looking back at them, expectant for an answer.
“Oh! Erh– Why?” They ask themselves again, making sure they heard right before rolling the question over in their mind, gravelly voice speaking up again with a bit more confidence in it this time, “--I suppose the answer is to settle… though you are right, in that I am a touch nervous,” The greatling swallowed some doubts as their gaze drifted down and to the road, watching it go by as they conversed with the older woman. “‘All paths lead to Notthof’... I pray the opposite is true, too, the Diviners having guided me far from the familiar slopes of Amafell in search of...” They seem a tad wistful before regaining track to the conversation itself, giving the poor woman a meaningful response and not simply unfiltered inner dialogue, “I uh… found that home is not always where one’s heart is, I’ve heard that the Southern Reaches are quite famous for new beginnings and the like. I mean to make a home here– or something like it.” Hynaq gave a brief attempt at a friendly smile to her after the fact, “Thank you, though, for asking, it keeps the mind from overthinking.”

Character Race: Greatling
Character Age: 29
Brief Physical Description: Hynaq is considered ‘short’ for greatlings. Their full height is around 6’8” but their posture puts them closer to 6’6”, barely a few inches taller with the horns. A Lanky posture hiding corded limbs and some serious scarring along their torso from their early adulthood. They have slate skin, a fair complexion, and gaunt features with short tusks and a ram-like set of horns framing the short pulled back hair in a crude undercut and ponytail. Hynaq’s clothing is mostly simple fabrics gathered from trade or in exchange for work that they’ve tied or hemmed into relatively loose yet baggy daywear.
