Read the following prompt:
The sound of clinking glasses and idle chatter welcome you in as you find yourself stepping into The Full Cask. An older man with a full mustache and warm smile beckons you over to the bar he's tending. His gazes washes over you, a glint of some knowing look shining in his eyes. As you sit, his voice rumbles out:
"Hello there stranger! What can I get for you?"
After you order, he continues to make small talk. "You must be a newcomer. I'm Maarten, glad to meet you." He says with a certain kindness in his tone.
"Tell me, what brings you to the Spire?"

Your Response: Candor's gaze speaks its own tale, a visage beset by decades of haunted dreams and memories. The light glaze within the monk's eyes vanish but only for a moment after each blink, yet a coarse word chokes itself out. "Traveling." A simple response, followed by the silent imbibing of Candor's ordered spirits. "Perhaps... escaping." The man quarter-turns his head towards the North, before returning low to his cups.
It is only after the liquor takes its hold does Candor speak more, perhaps long after the bartender had given up trying to coax further conversation from the Valkian. "I am... was... within the retinue of a lord of the Valkian Realm. Though, our task was not one of conquest and battle; instead, one of protection. Lord Thenris ruled over a small parcel of mountainous land, just north of Vicomté de Coteaux. A temple... a vault, dedicated to Facet." The man raises his sleeved elbow to cough within it, "we... were meant to guard the relics which the Lord Thenris deemed... threatening." A heavy sigh escapes, though a slight attempt is made to choke it back, "outlaws. No... reivers, wearing the Valkian steels they must have plundered off the patrols." The pilgrim shudders as his memory of the event transpires within his mind, rattling his soul. Brothers felled by familiar blades, crimson staining his once-pristine robes, yet the weapon within the man's hands merely trembled, not arcing until it was much too late. Candor's face grows pale, and while the bartender cannot look within the frozen monk's mind, his expression is all that Maarten needs to offer another drink.
"It was... a fog, a haze within my sight... I thought I was claimed for the life beyond. Instead, within my hand was a blood-stained blade... and screeches within my mind which clawed for further bloodshed..." A final drink vanishes into the trembling man's gullet, before the flagon is gently placed upon the counter, "that... is when I fled. I knew not what had transpired, yet I feared for the worst... sprinting towards this land of new opportunity, where I may repay my debts to Facet..."
