These are rumors your characters may have heard around the Spire about the going-ons of the lands outside of the Southern Reach. Almost none of these now, or in the future, will be tied to upcoming events. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to @Moony
⌞Ashlands⌝
- Word is being spread that Port Sulferm has undergone an expansion project. The hope of the Lord-Mayor is to expand their harbor to better accomdate the flow of exports and imports to the Ashlands. It's been publicly noted that he wishes to find trade partners with the Northern Kingdoms given their proximity and past of piracy.
⌞Mistan Isles⌝
- Towncriers warn of dangers in the Mistan Isles. Word has reached the Spire of a plague enveloping the main island. Sirensong's ports are blockaded and the city's gates have been shut. None get in, or out, of the city. The Serene Monarch, Gwennora Castella, has had the Mistcallers create a temporary isolation village for those affected by Tideblight at Kraken's Keep. She urges the people of the Isles to remain calm. All ships coming from the Isles are advised to be prevented from docking for at least two weeks.
⌞Fallstone⌝
- Speaker Alvarez has mobilized the Feyguard in the wake of the recent diastrous siege at Frostpeak. An entire contingent of soldiers was sent to bolster Hope's Watch and ensure no guerilla groups tried to route through the Faded Steppe and ignore the truce. With this increased security, adventurous merchants are once more traveling beyond the Steppe to trade with Valks and Northerners. Medicines and food for the winter are in high demand as the war left many farmsteads empty
⌞Ko'ram⌝
- Mixed and sometimes contradictory information arrives about the ongoing conflict in Ko'ram. An attempt by Buzeje's Riders to quickly put the Odokhi capital at the Iron Bastion to siege after crossing the Yirumat River was thwarted by rough terrain and fierce resistance of the outnumbered but disciplined local Odokhi forces, dashing the Great Adar's hopes for a decisive victory. On the Weizi Peninsula, however, the fall of the city of Beiti left the entire Sharuul Strait in the hands of the Adarkhin.
A pair of tradeships, belonging to a Clan Moon merchant fleet and traveling through the strait, were seized by the Adarkhin; their goods confiscated for fear that they were being used to smuggle supplies to the enemy. Outraged declarations by Clan Moon demanding reparations and an immediate end to the war will be discussed at this year's Hangawi between the Great Clans. The season's truce has been enacted, and many suspect that the Adarkhin will likely seek a peace with their gains on the Weizi Peninsula rather than drawing out a conflict through the winter and risking the further wrath of Clan Moon.
