These are rumors your characters may have heard around the Spire about the going-ons of the lands outside of the Southern Reach. Almost none of these now, or in the future, will be tied to upcoming events. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to @Moony
⌞Fallstone⌝
- Town criers make somewhat harrowing reports coming from Fallstone. Regular exports of grain have been diminished in quality and quantity, and in some cases altogether absent, for surrounding regions. Larger caravans have been scarcely seen leaving, and smaller ones are supposedly leaving at a rate larger than what is typically seen for those setting out for trade ventures. Even worse, The Feyguard have been completely pulled from Fallstone's northern regions and have gathered towards the south, north of The Vale of The Fallen. Many worry that this is a sign for even worse things to come.
⌞Port Sunfang, Kingdom of Ardara, The North⌝
- With the recent fall of Queen Ilona, House Kallgren has decided to hastily coronate her son. King Pelinor's ceremony was somber but otherwise well-received. The former Queen's mother, Queen-Mother Leyre, will act as regent of The Kingdom of Ardara until the nine-year-old king is of age to act on his own. The people hope that this will lead to good things, for it was Queen-Mother Leyre's careful tutelage of Ilona that led her to be able to challenge Valkia as she had.
⌞Mistveil Wharf, Kingdoms of Tannit, The North⌝
- Great-King Hemeric, of House Tricou, celebrates the unveiling of a new shipyard built for Mistveil Wharf. While the loss of many ships fade from an ill-fated journey towards the south, raised taxes have aided in helping prepare for a new fleet to be built to restore what was loss from the various petty-kingdoms that are under his watchful eye. While some look at this move wearily, Great-King Hemeric has made promises that the majority of ships built will be trade vessels to help bolster The Kingdoms of Tannit's coffers.
⌞Voelgrym, Kingdom of Faravid, The North⌝
- News spreads from The Kingdom of Faravid, King Gesalec, of House Achaden, has sent an abundance of aid to The Kingdom of Ardara to help it recuperate after the devestating loss during the incident at Frostpeak. Among the bounty of materials to rebuild, harvests have led to a surplus of moonstone melons, sundrop berries, Jela fruit, and yorlrhrime. These fruits, native to The North, should bring the people of Ardara some comfort.
⌞Uul'san, Ko'ram⌝
- Since the loss of the Weizi peninsula, little information has come out of Uul'san about Emperor Anjikhin's plans. The recent weeks change this; a large geographic survey has apparently concluded, highlighting the feasibility of the construction of a Grand Canal between the Gold and Bó Head Rivers. The expensive undertaking is expected to be partly financed by Clan Moon merchants, and if successful, will entirely bypass the now-unreliable Strait of Sharuul to allow direct access for shipping to the Odokhi interior without paying Adarkhin tolls.
Diplomats from Clans Kensho and Adarkhin have dismissed the megaproject, which is likely to enter its early stages soon, as "pure fantasy."
