These are rumors your characters may have heard around the Spire about the going-ons of the lands outside of the Southern Reach. Almost none of these now, or in the future, will be tied to upcoming events. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to @Moony
⌞Duchy of Sudvalkia, Valkian Realm⌝
- It is seen as a welcomed change when good news leave the rich lands of Sudvalkia. It has been almost twenty years since the wars in the region ended, and many are still recovering from the destruction or mourning those lost even now. Some believe now is the chance to repair what has been done. The noble families of Castariva have funded a new project, and construction has began on a massive bridge being built over the Venadoro River. The bridge will allow better access for smaller river ships to sail further inland, and stand as a monument to commemorate those whose lives were lost.
⌞County of Cazmuth, Valkian Realm⌝
- In a decree written from the Imperial Palace in Mariza, the Count of Cazmuth, Mercur of House Naredas, has been stripped of his titles on account of crimes against the people of his lands, the exploitation of Valkia's stalwart friends in the Mist Isles, and desertion of his duties in the recently concluded war in the North. His son, the young Lord Avens, has now been proclaimed to be the new Count of Cazmuth.
Some say that House Naredas was to be stripped of the lands entirely, until a timely intervention from more distant members of the house - including a Lady Yarrow Naredas - who vouched for the character of the new Count Avens.
⌞Duchy of Sanguifleur, Valkian Realm⌝
- Tragedy strikes in the Duchy of Sanguifleur. Éric D'Amboise, the Vicomté of Coteaux, and trusted advisor to Duc Matthieu Boucher was murdered in his chambers. Apparently the murderer posed as one of the guards assigned to his residence and slipped in during the night. The murderer is not yet found, and many speculate as to why this happened but no clear reason was given either. The entire Duchy is on alert, and the Comtesse Leclair is temporarily helping to manage Coteaux while House D'Amboise mourns.
⌞Duchy of Rulan, Valkian Realm⌝
- Word spreads that the crown prince was seen in arriving in Katrinsa, The Duchy of Rulan's capital. He appeared with an envoy, and the same night a banquet was held to celebrate the safe arrival. He was seen to be in good spirits and enjoying the constant company of Duchess Silverbloom. Some wonder if there is something happening behind the curtains, be it plans or pleasure.
