Im andy, and I really enjoy ttrpgs, as well as multiplayer rpg games that take rp seriously. I play a lot of d&d, draw maps in my free time, and am an overall creative person. I also like building in minecraft- though I prefer just to rp and make stories through interactions.
In-Character
Read the following prompt:
The sound of clinking glasses and idle chatter welcome you in as you find yourself stepping into The Full Cask. An older man with a full mustache and warm smile beckons you over to the bar he's tending. His gazes washes over you, a glint of some knowing look shining in his eyes. As you sit, his voice rumbles out:
"Hello there stranger! What can I get for you?"
After you order, he continues to make small talk. "You must be a newcomer. I'm Maarten, glad to meet you." He says with a certain kindness in his tone.
"Tell me, what brings you to the Spire?"
How do you respond (in character)? (250 word minimum - please make sure to include at least three references to our lore in your response, with two coming from different pages in the Compendium. Two of the three selected should also be in-depth, avoid simply name-dropping lore terms. Tie the terms into your character's backstory. Why are they important to them?)

Your Response:
"Well, friend." Reinhardt rubs his scruffy beard, sinking into thought. "Work, I suppose. Just this Autumn I finished serving my term as a mason to the Duchess-- on the Wall. Nasty work-- my arms are still aching from placing stones. The pay's not good either-- at least not while you work there." Reinhardt swipes his grog from the table, gulps down a large swig, and continues: "However, as a reward for my service, I was given escort to Katrinsa. But there was no work there for me-- none that I like, anyway. I mean, the Duchy's nice, but uh... too much wine and rosemary for a Jack like me. I was missing Southern ale. So I thought to myself, 'eh, I 'aven't been down south since I was a wee lad, might as well see my family."
Reinhardt pauses. His voice turns solemn. "I trekked through the swamps, as I did when I was a boy. I arrived at my village-- my home. But it seems the Scarlet Plague got there first." He sniffles, not letting a tear fall down his cheek. "Anyway," Reinhardt fixes his posture. "The Spire... thought to myself, surely there's work here. Whether it's pouring ale, being a stone mason again, or otherwise, I'm sure I'll find something to do. Something to make the days pass by while I mourn..."
Reinhardt clears his throat, finishes off his ale and stands up from his seat. "It was nice meeting you Maarten," his gaze turns to the window, where clattering caravans and rushing people pass by. "Seems to be plenty of business and traffic here. I'd better get going and earn myself some Crowns."
