Read the following prompt:

The sound of clinking glasses and idle chatter welcome you in as you find yourself stepping into The Full Cask. An older man with a full mustache and warm smile beckons you over to the bar he's tending. His gazes washes over you, a glint of some knowing look shining in his eyes. As you sit, his voice rumbles out:

"Hello there stranger! What can I get for you?" 

After you order, he continues to make small talk. "You must be a newcomer. I'm Maarten, glad to meet you." He says with a certain kindness in his tone. 

"Tell me, what brings you to the Spire?"

How do you respond (in character)? (250 word minimum - please make sure to include at least three references to our lore in your response, with two coming from different pages in the Compendium.  Two of the three selected should also be in-depth, avoid simply name-dropping lore terms. Tie the terms into your character's backstory. Why are they important to them?)

The Korami elf drew a quiet breath, sounding a hum on the exhale. Golden hues settle upon the bartender after a moment of thought. 

"My family back in Ko'ram has a take on the whole tradition of family blades. Rather than basing it on wedding, whenever the next heir is a daughter, a new heirloom must be sought out. So, I suppose you can call this a... pilgrimage of sorts. Finding the next blade for the Aduril bloodline as I ready myself to take my father's place, given he's getting as old as an Aedall," she offered, huffing a quiet laugh.

"There's some other ideas in mind, though. The Spire being what it is, I hoped to find a mentor to put arcane book knowledge to practice. Magic would go a long way when it comes to sailing back home. Marines sailing from the southern port back home are not usually known for being... conservative with their magic or swordplay. Shocktroopers, so to speak. Go in fast, strike hard. Though, maybe this would be a smart time to train on some different forms of combat. Mm... Maybe I'll give the local militia a looking into."

After reading through the application section of the backstory, I have a few notes on the written portion of the application. Trissena's design and the pictured Figura is compliant and will require no revisions.

On Avalore, we have a few significant limits for character backstory including starting access to magic and social status. Trissena speaks about magic as though she's performed some, and under the Race section "Great Clan Moon" is included. I have a few questions to inform my feedback before I can approve this application:

1. On Avalore, player characters cannot begin as levelled mages capable of complex spellcasting. However, we allow characters to begin with a single Cantrip from the General category of the Grimoire, through the Arcane Bloodline feat. General experience studying the Arcane is fine!
   
2. "Great Clan Moon" is listed under the Race section. Is Trissena intended to be from Kor'am Mori's islands in the south where they hold power, or a member of the Clan Moon family itself?

1. Totally fine! I'll edit it to be that she's been studying arcane matters but wants to actually learn to put them to practice. I think I'd like to take Whisper with that Feat. Do I need to gain any experience in-game before gaining a feat to take that?

2. Just meant to be from the islands where they hold power, the idea being that her family has its own little village somewhere out there. Small, but staunchly loyal to Clan Moon.

RE: 1. No! Arcane Bloodline is a little more flexible than it says in the desc (can have origins other than family ancestry) but that's one of those matters you can kinda pin down and ask after more easily once you're whitelisted. We have a plugin to track experience (XP), and every new character starts with 20xp. Feats cost 10xp, so you can buy it immediately.

RE: 2. Understood. I won't ask for edits on that for now as the intent is lore compliant + Trissena's family already have their own surname.

Your whitelist application has been accepted! The server is currently running on Minecraft version 1.21.1, and can be joined by connecting with the IP: mc.avalore.net.

Basic server plugin, modpack, and Figura information can be found under the Guides section of the Forum. I'd recommend using the modpack, although it is optional.
