In-Character
Read the following prompt:
The sound of clinking glasses and idle chatter welcome you in as you find yourself stepping into The Full Cask. An older man with a full mustache and warm smile beckons you over to the bar he's tending. His gazes washes over you, a glint of some knowing look shining in his eyes. As you sit, his voice rumbles out:
"Hello there stranger! What can I get for you?"
After you order, he continues to make small talk. "You must be a newcomer. I'm Maarten, glad to meet you." He says with a certain kindness in his tone.
"Tell me, what brings you to the Spire?"
How do you respond (in character)? (250 word minimum - please make sure to include at least three references to our lore in your response, with two coming from different pages in the Compendium. Two of the three selected should also be in-depth, avoid simply name-dropping lore terms. Tie the terms into your character's backstory. Why are they important to them?)

Your Response:
The young lady confidently strolls up to the bartender, a beaming smile plastered on her sun-tanned face as she blows a loose coil from her vision. She sits across from him at the empty stool and waves wildly. " Hello there! I'll have..." She hums, taking a glance to any available menu, squinting a bit as she deliberates the options and their prices. "Perhaps... A juice? Any kind will do! Actually... whatever you think suits me!" She smiled once more, pilfering through her purse and counting out her coins slowly as she double, triple, quadruple checked the pricing. Once she had finally paid for the drink and received it, she clasped the cup with one confident swing of her hand. Unfortunately, she swung her hand a bit too hard and sent the drink sloshing out of the cup and onto the floor. She took a moment to pause and contemplate if she should bother asking for a refill, to which she shrugged and just decided to imagine the drink was still in the empty mug. As she slurped at air, she listened to the bartender's cheerful greeting and curious questions.
With a swallow of her non-existent drink she placed the cup down. "Sure am! Just hailed from the Steppe in the East!" She cooed with delight, before she took but a brief moment to question what all she should tell this stranger. If she were to tell this man her whole life story it might put him off! In fact she would practically be a thief of his time with how drawn out this story could be. Her family always discouraged thievery, they made that all very clear when she witnessed one of her wagon-mates getting fairly roughed up for trying to make a run with another group's Budding Festival bread. That instance instilled the importance of that law to a zealous degree. She decided to try and summarize so that this man could be well informed without being stolen away from his work. "You know it was very strange to grow up around the fay-touched."
She began her tale
"Don't misinterpret me, I mean that in the best way!" - "I mean I was never alone after that point, the point being where I was found wandering this random dirt trail. It was hammered into me how strange it was. I mean, could you imagine? They're in a wagon, following other wagons, which ... it's a group of wagons full of Falstoners." She takes another imaginary sip. "They take a small break, a wagon wheel got caught in a branch and sent some unsecured goods flying. Big mess of a situation and there is just- standing on the side of the road watching all these carts go by - this tiny human child. I would be bewildered!" A chuckle escapes her. "They initially thought I was some sort of sick trap, a child set out to lure the world's largest caravan into the mouth of some ugly bandit group." She beams again, smiling as she recalls her family retelling this story to her. "Eventually my charm convinced them!" She didn't want to explain that she had to follow them for two days before one wagon just lugged her onto one of their seats. "In any case.. that's where my journey started, and through an exchange of trails by mountain and plains I ended up here! But I won't take your time much longer good friend!" - "Have a great day Martin!" She parted, unknowingly forgetting the poor man's name. Oddly, on her exit, she recalled one final detail, a detail she never much cared to retell to anyone. On that night, as she was told, the zodiac of her finding was the Dark Horse. Every night she wondered what it could mean for her future, and what, as her family also wondered, would be her great final trump card.
