Are you at least 18 years old?: yep, sure am ^^
Have you read the rules? (Link): i have.
(Optional) Were you referred by someone? If so, who: oddly, a comment on a youtube video, :')
according to them, they were staff on a defunct RP server called Hollowworld, though i get that that likely doesn't help a bunch.
(Optional) Introduce yourself if you’d like, as well as any creations you want to share (e.g. art, builds, skins): heya; i'm peg! i'm a lowly retail peon by day, avid board/video/tabletop gamer and fantasy dweeb by night (sleep doesn't factor into this; it's a hoax propagated by Big Mattress to sell more mattresses)
i dabble in a lot of stuff, with varying degrees of competence, and i'll likely be at least trying to cobble together a skin if this gets through, ahaha
in any case, the worldbuilding and general concept here seemed super neat when i learned of it, so i'd love to have a chance at joining in myself.

In-Character
Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”
How do you respond (in character)? (150 words minimum - please make sure to include some references to our lore in your response!)
"Beats spending the next year or twenty whiling away with no company except my old bones, don't it?"
I flash a grin of my own in return, though that fades as I continue.
"'Sides, it's not as if I have a say. Was just starting to settle down up in - well, the name don't matter, especially not now. Up in Valkia, though. Nowhere important, just a tiny corner where we all just minded our business. Up until the old fella in charge kicked the bucket, so to speak, and their damn fool of a kid gambled away everythin' but the shirt on his back. New guy comes in acting all high and mighty, telling everyone how he wants things done, and I gave him a piece of my mind in front of the whole town. Fat lot of good it did me - his goons came down in the night to mess my shopfront up good and proper, then the taxman randomly picked me for a surprise ransacking of my ledgers, and well, the writing was on the wall."
Shaking my head, I pause for a moment, lost in thought.
"But I don't want to drag the mood down too much with my ramblin', right? And if I don't have a place to go back to, I'm figuring I can find myself a place in the place everyone else left behind. Truth be told, I've been hankerin' to have a look down here ever since the news broke that all the folks up and disappeared into the aether, and I know I'm not the only one. And if all those folks want to be trompin' around looking for adventure, I'll just have to make sure they're trompin' around in shoes made by the best damn cobbler in miles, no?"
