Physical Appearance:
Eryndor is a 26 year old Arsa Sidhe. He stands at 189cm tall with sharp features and black hair which goes down to his shoulders. He has a fair skin tone and deep purple eyes. He usually wears a red travel cloak which he brought from his homeland.
Personality:
Eryndor is a calm and composed individual, traits that are a result of years of self-reflection. He is thoughtful and rarely rushes into anything without thinking about its future consequences or implications. His desire to discover his true purpose and search for a value shape him. He feels the immense weight of his unfulfilled potential and is fearful of living a meaningless life.
He comes off as reserved, especially in groups. However, Eryndor is deeply empathetic, even though he sometimes fails to show it, or seems uninterested. He’s open minded, willing to listen and learn from others no matter their culture and background.
Even in cases of disagreements Eryndor rarely lashes out. Instead, he calmly assesses the situation, and considers the opposing side’s perspective.
His internal conflicts, fueled by his family’s expectations and his own fear of lack of value, often leave him feeling isolated. He tends to doubt his decisions, but once committed to something, he doesn’t give up easily. While introverted and quiet, he wants to form connections at the same time. Whenever he does speak on his own initiative, he often offers insightful and reflective words.
Backstory:
Eryndor was born into a Korami clan, in the unforgiving terrain of the far west. His people were known for their strength and resilience. Like most Korami youth transitioning into adults, Eryndor went through a rigorous pilgrimage of the mountains, fighting against the unforgiving cold and dangerous paths. After reaching the summit and succeeded in the challenge, he was ready to begin his adult life.
However, for years after this, he couldn’t find his true path in life. He remained stagnant for years, his family pressuring him to soon find his value. This put a toll on him, leading to internal problems. The Korami people believe that their actions and value in life strengthens their soul, their fate after life depending on it. Eryndor was taught this since he was a young child, and now, it was sinking deep into him as he couldn’t find his purpose at home.
The Great Disappearance was something that was on his mind since he was young, but his family would always discourage him from thinking about it, as the Korami people and Aedall weren’t on the best of terms. But now that he couldn’t think about anything else to do with his life at home, he needed to venture far away. Though he respected the traditions of his people, Eryndor felt that he wouldn’t be able to grow otherwise.
The vanishing of the Aedall has always lingered in his mind, as while he doesn’t agree with their cultural choices, he couldn’t simply ignore their vanishing. In his mind they still mattered, as they were also Arsa Sidhe just like him. He also believed that whatever caused their disappearance could possibly affect everyone in the world. With all of this, if he was to help solve their mystery, that would certainly add value to his life.
And so, the Southern Reach called to him. With an opportunity for discovery, exploration and unveiling the mystery behind the Aedall.
Within his last years at his homeland, he decided to travel far away to the Southern Reach, striving to find his path and value in life. When he announced his decision to his family, the reactions were mixed with pride and concern. His father entrusted him the family’s heirloom, the symbol of his bloodline’s history. With the treasure of his family at his side, Eryndor left his home, determined to chase his destiny.
The purpose of his journey to the Reach is a mix of discovery, seeking a way to live a valuable life and helping solve the mystery of the Aedall. And with those, strengthening his soul and not fading away after death.
