Are you at least 18 years old?: Yes I am
Have you read the rules? (Link): Indeed I have.
(Optional) Were you referred by someone? If so, who: Sort of. Kind of. I watched a video by Redlyne named ‘Exploring Forgotten Minecraft Servers 2’, and in said video I learned about HallowWorld. After looking through the comments, I stumbled upon the comment of one "coffeeconscript". After reading through their remembrances of HollowWorld, I looked through the replies and found the mention of Avalore.
(Optional) Introduce yourself if you’d like, as well as any creations you want to share (e.g. art, builds, skins): Hi there, I'm Loc, or Madigan or whatever you prefer! I'd rather not give out my actual name, for safety reasons. I've been a fan of Minecraft for a very long time, and I've been playing for a good number of years now, so many that my memory has forgotten the exact year I began playing. I've mainly got a lot of role-play experience through other platforms that support that, but Minecraft really helped me visualize it. I've been roleplaying through Minecraft for at least 5 or so years, but I've always wanted to have a deeper connection with a character and the world around said character. I am also a massive Dungeons and Dragons nerd, so suffice it to say, this server in its entirety is a true diamond in the rough.

In-Character
Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”
How do you respond (in character)? (150 words minimum - please make sure to include some references to our lore in your response!)
The short figure brushes some of their crimson locks out of their face, their completely scarlet eyes looking at the kind woman. "Ah, I've come to see the world. Mine father told me that, come a certain age, I should go out and make mine own mark upon the land, whether physical or arcane."
"I see... and you are certainly not any ordinary young one, no?"
They smile a bit, looking down at the blackened tips of their fingers as they rub them, a nervous habit they've had since their childhood. "Aye, ma'am. What gave it away first?"
"Your clothing is a start. Even though it is still only the beginning of Highsun, your outfit covers most of your arms and legs, but your scales still peak through. And also, judging by the way you've been repositioning yourself and your clothes, I would assume your childhood was rocky, at best."
"Aye... not many Fey-Touched live in mine hometown, so when I emerged from my mother, blackened tips and all... 'Twas a surprise, to say the least. Some of the other children mocked mine appearance, calling me 'Dragonskin' or 'Burned Goods', or names of a similar nature." They shift again for what must be the hundredth time, adjusting their shirt sleeve to cover up the scales that reached down to their wrists.
"Well, here, you need not hide yourself. In fact, you'll likely find many others who have come to embrace their nature." The kind woman's smile reached to her eyes, letting the crimson-haired figure smile back, feeling safe in this moment. "And perhaps one day I may see you again, standing proud in your heritage and no longer hiding who you are from the world."
".... Thank ye kindly, ma'am." The young Fey-Touched smiles again, their heart feeling lighter as the wagon rolled on, bringing them closer to adventure
"If you'll pardon an old beldam's curiosity, where might you be from?"
The question surprised the Fey-Touched a bit. "Ah... From the Duchy, ma'am."
"Which one?" The elder teased softly, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
"Rulan... Mine father tended to the cotton fields whilst mother helped with the carding and combing. She always had a smile on her face, even during the longest of days for her."
"Ah, Rulan... the azaleas from there are beautiful in Bloomburrow." She nods, rocking back and forth a bit in her reminiscence.
"Aye! Mother would always have one in her hair during a harvest festival, Father said it brought out the color in her eyes." The young figure said happily, their eyes sparkling a bit as their eyes caught a bit of the light.
"Ah, grew up in a Valkian house, eh?" She hummed.
"Aye... though I don't claim to be from the Realm. They're... oppressive." The figure's excitement dies down, hugging themself.
"... had a bad experience, young one?"
They nod. "A group of soldiers from the Realm were passing through and sought rest. Father was forced to allow one of them into our home, a crude man who was very rude towards mine mother and father, demanding a goodly portion of our food and drink for himself. When he laid his eyes upon me, he claimed that, despite mine curse, he could teach me how to fight just like him." They shudder. "I ran to mine room and hid for the rest of the night, scared for mine life. After that day, I covered mineself more, to try and give mineself a stronger appearance." They fell quiet after that, trying to banish the horrible memories once again.
The grandam was silent for a time, before reaching into her bag and pulling out a small bundle of flowers. Extracting one, she gave it to her travel companion. "Here, dear... something to remind you of home." She said softly, watching the young figure stare longingly at the azalea she had given them.
"Th-Thank ye, m-ma'am. I shalt treasure it." they said, carefully threading it into their hair before sitting up a bit taller, wiping tears from their eyes.
She smiled, seeing a good deal of potential in this young'un. "May the Sun shine upon you, young one."
They smiled back softly. "And may the Sun's rays brighten your day, ma'am."
