Are you at least 18 years old?: Yes, I am 25

Have you read the rules? (Link): yup

(Optional) Were you referred by someone? If so, who: Uhhhh a lot of people. Mostly Deester, I think?

(Optional) Introduce yourself if you’d like, as well as any creations you want to share (e.g. art, builds, skins): Howdy, I'm Blorbis. I've been a long-time mineman roleplayer since at least high school. I've always enjoyed writing stories, whether its by myself or together as a part of a community. I was a member of Hollowworld for a good chunk of my time roleplaying and it was there I went from a complete novice at creative writing to a passable writer. I particularly enjoyed creating various cultures for people to explore, but I also ran a Pan-Classical themed region called Astrakhan, hosted a campaign based around the themes of Conan the Barbarian, and procrastinated on hundreds of projects :)

In-Character

Read the following prompt:

The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has lead you here to new lands.

“Nervous?”

You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.

“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.

“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”

How do you respond (in character)(150 words minimum)

"Eh? What?" Sangiban looked aside towards the old woman, his eyes half-lidded and his face relaxed in such a fashion as to- at first glance- imply profound disinterest in conversation at worst or an attempt to conceal his nervousness through daydream at best.  After a moment of scratching at his scruffy, chocolate beard, the man answered, "A while ago, I found this sword." He lowered his hand to his belt, revealing the blue, silken hilt of a kriegsmesser, before continuing on. "Some Korami gave it to me during a game of dice, just for safekeeping, but I never was able to give it back to him when our ox-train split up. He was about....yeigh big? Black hair, green eyes? Elf? Seemed awfully sad." The old woman shook her head, her grin dissolving into a polite smile. "Yeah...I figured, thanks, lady." Sangiban leaned back into the creaking, knobby, wooden seat of the cart and looked away, deciding to terminate the conversation for now. His eyes had just begun to close for another cat-nap when the covered wagon jolted forward to a halt. A blonde-haired, middle-aged man's face poked through the canvas covering, looking eagerly at Sangiban and his fellow passengers as he blinded them with a ray of golden sunlight, "Well, we're here! Looks like as good a spot as any to set up! Move yer behinds and get unloading!"

There was no point in letting his eyes readjust to the darkness of the conestoga, so, bracing himself, he hopped out of the wagon and shielded his eyes. As his sun-blindness settled, he gasped at what laid before him; a vast, rolling, landscape of golden grass and chalk-bright limestone outcroppings, peppered by dark green thickets of forestry. Sangiban grinned as he took up his satchel of belongings and headed off to join the others in setting up a camp..

Character Name: Sangiban

Character Race: Human

Character Age: 35

Brief Physical Description: Sangiban is roughly 5'8 with a somewhat undernourished, scrappy build. His eyes and hair are both a dusty, coffee brown and his skin is colored halfway between peachy and tan. His general expression likewise seems to waver between drowsy confusion and amused curiosity at times. For his attire, he wears a patchy, soot-covered, off-white tunic beneath a jerkin, a pair of brown, linen pants, and worn-out boots from one can make out that he is not wearing socks.
