In-Character
Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”
How do you respond (in character)? (150 words minimum - please make sure to include at least three references to our lore in your response, with two coming from different pages in the Compendium. Two of the three selected should also be in-depth, avoid simply name-dropping lore terms. Tie the terms into your character's backstory. Why are they important to them?)
Squished uncomfortably between two other travelers, a girl dressed in plain, worn fabrics looks up at the elder, wringing her hands in a gesture of apprehension. Glancing between the floor and the woman, she hesitates, her hopes for a quiet, undisturbed journey dwindling.
"Go on, child," the elder urges, grinning with amusement at the somewhat out-of-place traveler. Though Falstoners weren't exactly unseasoned nomads, this one had never made a journey alone; She'd always had someone in a close vicinity, a friendly face to reassure and to be reassured by, or a caravan of people moving with her. But this time. . .
Sucking in a breath, she speaks cryptically, her voice quiet below the sounds of the bustling wagon.
"It's what I- we do, I suppose. Travel."
The elder's cheery expression morphs into one far more curious.
"That's hardly an answer," she says, waving her hand in a dismissive motion.
"I suppose. . .I suppose I don't want to do that anymore. Go on long-winded journeys across the continent over and over again," the girl says, with a hint of irritation. Three-quarters of the year- of her life- were spent in a self-inflicted exile, and the remaining quarter was spent in a grain field in the middle of Fallstone, which was also the middle of nowhere interesting. Though, granted, the Fey-touched dominating the population of Falstone were interesting, she'd spent most of her life around them; It'd gotten boring, just like everything and everyone else familiar to her.
As if sensing more. . .compelling motivations beneath the girl's hesitant exterior, the elder presses her, her curiosity evident in her solid yellow eyes; Another Fey-touched. Whatever interest the girl had in the elder evaporated, replaced with the idea that the elder was yet another generic Fae-touched.
"Go on."
"I want to live somewhere more interesting than a temporary sanctuary. Somewhere interesting. Somewhere like. . .- The Spire," she says, her expression lighting up with unrestrained wonder. A giant indestructible tower that no one had noticed for ages, obviously touched by the arcane, built by an Arse Sidhe that was utterly destroyed? What could be more interesting than that? Where else would she find what she wanted?

Brief Physical Description: A human girl of average height with green eyes, tan skin, and brown hair.
