In-Character
Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”
How do you respond (in character)? (150 words minimum - please make sure to include at least three references to our lore in your response, with two coming from different pages in the Compendium. Two of the three selected should also be in-depth, avoid simply name-dropping lore terms. Tie the terms into your character's backstory. Why are they important to them?)

Garrick scoffed lightheartedly, waving his hand whilst he tilted his body towards her. “Nervous? Maybe. A bit old to be going on grand adventures. When was your first time, miss?” Garrick appeared as a gruff, greying man - and he was just that. Human, or Nua Sidhe, he was simply older (but perhaps not as old as the woman next to him), there was nothing unusual about his appearance, minus the harsh scars.
“Why, huh? Eh. I guess there wasn’t anything for me back home in Frostpeak. I came with a wagon, ended up here, and am simply on my way to the Spire. Whatever else that might be on my agenda will depend on what happens in the Spire.” He’d look down at the campfire. “I do have a question though. I heard talk about the ‘Jacks’- maybe it was just history, but are the people of the Spire and the Jacks still at odds? I know the conflict was mostly between the Aedells and the Jacks, but it’s good to know if the tensions are still there. Haven’t really ventured outside of the Peaks, or cared much about the goings of the world outside of my life.” He'd flick his fingers as he spoke. There was something about her presence that got him talking, and he didn't like that. It was like a ramble. He didn't even really live in Frostpeak- it was just a rehearsed line that he came up with on the trip south. A huff left his lips, and he shook his head.
Garrick shook his head, refocusing his gaze to her. "Bah, enough about me. What brings you here, miss?"

Character Name: Garrick Chandler
Character Race: Human {Nua Sidhe}
Character Age: 42
Brief Physical Description:
Garrick is an older gentleman with a few scars. Physically built from labour and training, he used to be a guard in his homeland - before certain events had him change professions. He still performs his physical training, but nowadays he takes on work behind a bar or pub, cooking and brewing. His main scars are around his face, arms and torso. He’s quite pale with his years outside of service and years behind the stove, and his hair is mostly already grey. He claims it’s from all the stress his daughter had inflicted on him. He’s roughly 6’4, and hails from the North - likely Frostpeak, as he claims, but that’s not necessarily true.
