The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”
How do you respond (in character)? (150 words minimum)
The dame would chuckle, drily, the memory of her past life seemingly sparking a bitter emotion from deep down.
"Oh the tales to spin, I could spin...But, for the sake of brevity, I'll keep the matter brief: I'm here to reinvent my life. I've been stuck in one place for so long, truthfully, I think cleansing my past and starting from scratch would just be better. I haven't the foggiest clue if I'll even like it here, but, at the end of the day, what else is there for me to do?"
She'd lean back in her seat, moving a series of locs from her face revealing a porcelain visage akin to an owl in appearance. "
I think I like feeling on not knowing what comes next. I think it best if I simply...for the time being at least, find my way in more…productive ways.”
The masked Korami would bow her head.
“As I said, the tales I could spin. Perhaps another time.”
