Minecraft Username: SomeSanity

Are you at least 18 years old?: Yes

Have you read the rules? (Link): I have

(Optional) Introduce yourself if you’d like, as well as any creations you want to share (e.g. art, builds, skins):

My name is Sanity, thats what I go by. I am a simple guy with mainly irl hobbies rather than online, I ski, box, and mainly outdoor winter sports

On minecraft, I'd say im a decent builder, I've made some good builds in the past, I simply need to get in the right groove. I absolutely love roleplaying, I have been roleplaying ever since I got my pc and even before then I used to roleplay on random ps4 minecraft thingies. I love improving my writing skills, and I love writing little character stories, like additions to my characters backstory and so much more.

In-Character

Read the following prompt:

The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.

“Nervous?”

You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.

“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.

“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”

How do you respond (in character)(250 word minimum - please make sure to include at least three references to our lore in your response, with two coming from different pages in the Compendium.  Two of the three selected should also be in-depth, avoid simply name-dropping lore terms. Tie the terms into your character's backstory. Why are they important to them?)

Lucian jolted awake, ears ringing as he blinked blearily at the older woman across from him. His body swayed with the wagon's unsteady rhythm, and as another jolt rocked the wooden frame, he instinctively tensed, his first instinct to retreat. He scurried back into the corner, but there was nowhere to run-not here, not now.

His breath came sharp, but he forced himself to take in his surroundings. The cool breeze snuck through the cracks in the worn timber, carrying the scent of dry grass and distant earth. The wagon groaned under its own weight, packed full of strangers bound for lands unknown. Beyond the wooden slats, the Southern Reach stretched endlessly-rolling hills and untamed fields spilling out beneath a sky so wide it made a man feel small.

BONK. Another jarring bump rattled through his bones, this one shaking something loose in his memory. His shoulders eased, tension bleeding away as he exhaled, finally returning to his seat.

The old woman watched him with knowing eyes, patient and warm. He met her gaze, rolling his shoulders before answering.

"I'm Lucian Aurelianus, son of Valerius Aurelianus-a so-called great warrior of the Red Fists." His lip curled slightly, but there was no real heat in it, just something tired. "Reckon he liked that title more than bein' a father, though. Trained me like a soldier since I could walk, never had a kind word, just more drills, more expectations. Fought in wars, bled for a cause that wasn't even mine, all for a bloke who never gave a damn."

He exhaled, gaze drifting past the wagon, to the wild land beyond. The Reach had been left untouched for so long, shielded by the swamps to the north and the mountains that cradled it to the east. The Aedall once called it home, but they were long gone now. In their absence, the land stood waiting.

Back in the Valkian Realm, nothing was ever new. The so-called greatest empire in the world was a crumbling patchwork of squabbling nobles, only held together by the iron grip of the King-Emperor and the Red Fists-his personal army, his enforcers, his hammer. Lucian had once been part of that hammer, wearing that black Valkian steel, marching down those stone-paved roads that stretched across the empire. From the war-torn north to the deep ports of the trade cities, he'd seen how the Realm really worked. Not with honor, not with glory, but with a well-practiced trick-offering sweet words with one hand while the other gripped a blade.

"But I'm done with that life," he murmured, the words steadier now. "I came here to start fresh. Away from the ghosts of the past. Away from him."

He glanced back out at the Reach, letting his breath steady. The Valkians had barely given this land a second thought, too busy with their northern wars and their power games. Maybe that meant, for once, it could be left to those who simply wanted to live.

Maybe that meant he could.

(I'm pretty sick, so I might of misunderstood some things because of low brain power. Everything can be changed, I don't know if red fists is a thing I can have in his backstory but I love writing so I'm ready to change anything needed!)
