Entry 1 in the reach
Just arrived from my long trip, the town has the mood similar to that of the aftermath of war. It seems something big happened before I arrived. The city is cramped, with housing all bunched together, it’s new to see. I found a tavern that had rooms to book, and booked one.
Entry 2
I explored the town some more, and saw a poster board that lists jobs for crowns.Along with a posting about a “barbeque”. What is a barbeque? I took the poster to go and see for myself upon the date.
Day 3 I met a man who was injured from the supposed war, which I came to learn it was deemed the ‘garden war of addel’, at least by him, others seem to have different names but ‘garden’ is a constant title within.
Entry 4
The “barbeque” was today, at the beach side of the town. Normally I’m not a nervous woman, but this place is still very new and I have seen nearly no other folks that look or dress like me here so far. I still went, but it seems I had the time wrong and only showed up near the tail end of it. I was able to meet a nice woman named Gwenna. One who flirts apparently, as they flirted with me, which was a nice compliment but wasted efforts. It did fluster me though, as I was unprepared for such advances.
Entry 5
I continue to meet new folks but the conversations don’t last long. Is it me? My breathe? I don’t think so, i make sure to maintain being clean as much as I can.
Well, maybe they’re shy too. Either way, i found yet another poster on the board in the middle of town. This time for a delivery job on the outskirts of the towns walls. I decided to take it, perhaps make some friends and get to know the lay out better.
Entry 6
I met some folks, a person named Marcel, a person named Falliren, and someone else who’s name escapes me. We travelled farther than I thought, and ran into some odd creatures, called necrothingies. They shot at me and /only/ me, that was rude. Only woman in the group and they targeted me? Well jokes on them because they ended up the losers as me and the others shot them up with our bows.
Entry 7
I met a nice, yet very clumsy woman named Blythe. Still yet to see any fellow Ko’rami here, but perhaps they are and I’m looking wrong? Either way, meeting Blythe was nice. She was fun and I quickly thought of her as a friend, or at least friendlier to keep talking to. We made plans to go search out those necrothingies. Though I learned they’re actually called ‘war wanderers’, but necrothingies is just fun to say. My parents would be annoyed at such childish antics, but there isn’t much harm being done with it, is there?
Entry 8
Got approached by a child(?) in armor, trying to recruit me and Blythe into their ‘theives guild’, because they heard her and I talking about trying to be sneaky to go search out the ‘war wanderers’. Lady Blythe was quite petrified, but I thought the person was a bit endearing. I agreed, and even went through their little ritual. Reminded me a bit of kids back home in the clan I would play with when they wanted to pretend to me to pretend to be the evil odokhi evil doer as they are the valiant clan to take me down.
Entry 9/10/11
Rested for these three days while focusing more back onto my training, as I have not kept up with as much as I should.
Entry 12
New houses were made, and I grew closer with Lady Blythe, where we decided to chip in together to rent one of the homes. The tavern is nice but peace and quiet of our own place can’t be beat. She was gone when it was time, but I was luckily able to secure a nice corner spot near the library. I decorated the top floor for my room, and did some in the ground floor, but will work with Lady Blythe when she comes back. Ah, I also found out about some romance festival that the Valkians do? Something called “valen tine”, where you gift flowers to one another. It happens on the 14th. I decided to get a new outfit for the day to take part of the spirit of the festival. I will admit, the topic of romance is a tad of a sore spot for me. I love love, but it seems love doesn’t love me back. That’s a lot of writing ‘love’, isn’t it?
Entry 13
nothing written
Entry 14
The “valen tine” festival was fun, got to see more folks and even saw apparently the woman running it is from Ko’ram like I am. They don’t dress like it at all though, maybe from a different clan or region I never went to? Well, either way they seemed nice. I spent most of my time just walking around the area, trying out these fun games. Even got “dunked” in a “dunk game” where people hit a board and it drops you in water. It was pretty fun, I should bring this idea back home, I bet the clan would love it. Easy training method with some fun mixed in for the young ones.
Entry 15
Training focused day, no distractions.
Entry 16
I ended up walking the streets where I came upon a duel to the death by a green(?) haired arsa woman, and a short valkian man. They were both not dodging or blocking each others attacks, just taking the stabbings over and over. You would think they would have a death wish. Which, turns out. The woman did. Also another Ko’rami like myself, but they are from the odokhi region. Seems their clan was wiped out and she lost the clan blade, so gave up. I feel I betrayed part of my own clan for not finishing the job, but this is not Ko’ram, so I did not. They seemed to be quite nice, if a bit shy, heck shyer than I was upon my first day here.
Several entries are simple ‘rest and training’ entries, along with a one off entry about the first ‘job’ for their “thieves guild” for the 26th of Feb(change to IC month)
Entry 23
There was an archery contest today. I decided to show up and try my luck to see if my skills have dulled at all. Was quite a big turn out and I didn’t even know half the faces here. I ended up coming in second place, which shows my skills have dulled some but not as much as I was worried about. I only missed the first shot, and I think that was more so because of nerves with the large amount of eyes upon me. I’m not use to so many people watching me like that.
Entries 24/25
Rest day and preparation for first ‘job’ entries.
Entry 26
The day of the first job for the “thieves guild”. We’re apparently going to try and “rob” some fake merchant man that’s holding up north in a nearby camp close to a place called “alberns crossing”. I am a tad unsure if this is true or not, but we should be fine, more folks are in the guild so a group of us even if it’s a bit more should be able to handle it. What’s the worst that can go wrong? It’s just a child's attempt at being a hero, after all.
The entries stop.
Entry 40
The writing would be sloppier compared to before, harsh strokes on certain words, bits of blood splattered throughout.
I save your life and you repay me by treating me like I’m the monster? You do /nothing/ that entire time except act petrified but /I’m/ the monster? Me?! How fucking dare you. Fuck you. And your friend. I should have finished you off to complete your wish of death. I put my fucking life on the line for you, I was able to talk my way to YOUR FREEDOM! Yet you did /nothing/ the entire time! Besides some fake ass attempt to save me? Only took you nearly two days to have the gull to even pretend you wanted to help. We could have been let go, if not for your pathetic friend that you hold in higher regard to me. Your friend acting like they did anything worth of note because they camped out in the rain after THEY FUCKED UP?! Deserves nothing! If they are going to act like some emotionless person, they need to follow through. Clearly the act is horseshit. /They/ didn’t save your life, /I/ did but clearly I shouldn’t have.
Entries 41-43
The storm rages on, while my anger within matches it. My room trashed, my knuckles broken, my thumbs dislocated. Forced to put up with the pathetic archer trying to manipulate me through my friendship with you, but clearly there is never a friendship between us.
Entries 44.
Why them? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?
I should have never met you, I believed us to be able to bond over our roots even with us being from different sides, and your own dislike of odokhi but I was naïve and a fool. My father would beat me for this behavior for letting me feel this way, act that way in front of you. Tears coming from someone who admits they put the person who /put us in fucking danger/ above me still? You wish to ‘make up’ for what you did, be a 'better friend' but we’ll see if you follow through on that.
No entries for the next several days.
Entry 52
You lied.
I’m done.
The people here reject me, my attempts, my effort, my /everything/.
I am done with trying. My efforts here are all in vain.
Entry 54
I finally visited the shrine I have walked by so many times prior. It is run by Lady Myra. I am sure I recognize her from back home, but can’t quite tell for sure. They are nice, the shrine is nice, I feel at peace here. It reminds me of home, the scent of flowers and tea mixed with the nice smell of the pond water right outside. Being away from the others, even though I wasn’t avoiding them, they clearly avoided me. Seems to have been what I needed, I have been able to calm myself down from my childish tantrums earlier. I am an adult, I should have never let emotions run as wild as they have. The meditations here have been helping.
No entries for some time.
Entry 55
I continue to visit the shrine daily now, meditating there if not at the pond near my house. More folks visit and I keep having more interactions with Lady Myra. I have done shrinemaiden work before, but watching someone, truly watching them take care in their duties is new to my eyes.
I even got to witness her help Marcel, who was granted the eye of the phoenix, similar to Lady Myras. As well as got to take part for the first time in the equinox ritual, well, /truly/ take part as prior I would fake it. This place, this shrine, Lady Myra and the silent Ko’ram man who shows up now and again have made me realize, It’s not -me-, that is the issue, the problem. No, I have just reached a hand out to folks who would rather receive a knife to the back.
I asked to try and become a shrinemaiden under Lady Myra, though it was a spur of the moment. She let me do so under a ‘try out’, in case I don’t follow through. I admit it was sudden, but the shrine and Ko’ram feeling here makes me not want to leave this place.
