Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”

The man slowly blinks, golden eyes training back onto the older woman as the sound of clashing blades fades from his mind. His hand readjusted against the strap on his shoulder, trailing down to what looked to be a weapon holster on his side, the type of which being unknown at a first glance. It was bound tight in a black leather sheath, bound with several tight ropes. To anyone keen enough to make this connection, this weapon was being restrained... The man gives a small nod to the woman, golden eyes glinting as he looks back to the wagon ahead.
"A few reasons, actually. A big one is wandering. There seems to be some interesting places all over the reach, and I've wanted to see a few up them." Looking forward, he finds one such place that he was talking about; The Spire. That large, alien tower just on the horizon. That thing had been plaguing his mind since he was little, when his father left for it in search of something. It was the place his father talked of so often, a structure that had only been noticed with another large event; The Disappearance of the Adeall. Their disappearance and abandonments of their settlements left adventurers traveling to the south in droves to pick up what was left. Now, here he was, traveling to the very same place. It was almost poetic. He looked back to the woman.
"That's just me, though. Adventurous spirit, and whatnot..." That, however, wasn't the main reason he was going. No, he was going because he had been called there by something. Caleb reached up, fiddling with a small pendant around his neck. The small silver and gold disk was one of balance, displaying the heads of two majestic birds chasing each other. He had originally planned to stay at home, but once he got his hands on this pendant, something had begun to push him towards Reach. He felt like there was destination he needed to reach once he made it there. He shook his head, giving as polite a smile as he could muster to the kind woman. "Ah, thank you for listening to me rant for a small bit. Not often do I get such nice company." He held out his hand to her.
"I'm Caleb Liadon, pleased to meet you."
