In-Character
Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”
How do you respond (in character)? (250 word minimum - please make sure to include at least three references to our lore in your response, with two coming from different pages in the Compendium. Two of the three selected should also be in-depth, avoid simply name-dropping lore terms. Tie the terms into your character's backstory. Why are they important to them?)

In the minds eye were a vast field in Fallstone, observing as their mother and father worked to reap the harvest of wheat, Adelin’s much smaller form stooping down to pick at the little bits of grain that tumbled from the stalks. Their gaze wandered to the Amafell Mountains in the distance, the youth muttering to themselves in broken Greatling. “My…name… is… Adelin!” They giggled, feeling a callused hand ruffle their hair as their mother spoke to them in Fey. “Don’t be too distracted now, we have work to do.”
“Nervous?” A voice pierced their thoughts.
Adjusting that straw hat from their visage as they blinked a set of times, Adelin would gaze at the old crone. “I’m not nervous!” She would protest with a huff, leaning against the side of the carriage as the grinning woman leaned in, now gazing into the endless plains before them. “…Whell… May be a little…” She would bashfully admit, a finger idly coiling around a patch of feathers on her arm. “I jest wanna look at all that stuff there is to see, ya know?” She’d glance at the old crone. “There’s only so much Meemaw can tell me about The Collapse er whatever.” Her hands waved dramatically. “I get it. It was real bad, better be kind to yer neighbor ‘er else theys ganna revolt ‘n eat you for dinner cuz you left ‘em starvin, yada yada.”
“Now what I wanna know is about them other sorts kinda like the Stonerunner Greatlin’s, the Fireborne folk! They were from ehhh… Ashlands or somethin like that.” Her hand waved with dismissal at that crucial piece of information, giving a firm nod. “But I gots to make some crowns before I go up‘n see ‘em. I figure the Reach has more work I can do then back home. Only so much grain to harvest ya know?” Their brows furrowed as they mused. “...Prolly need some eh, fireproof clothin or somethin too… Them Stonerunners look kinda like stone but they ain’t made of stone so I don’t think theys Fireborne be made of fire… Are they?” Their gaze panned to the old crone with wide sunny eyes. With the old woman’s silence did Adelin grow nervous.
“...Are they?”
