Minecraft Username: 77Gameboy
Are you at least 18 years old?: Yes
Have you read the rules? (Link): Yes(Optional) How did you hear about Avalore?: Server that I was in for a long time winded down as folks got busy, so I looked around for a decent server on the usual lists (Found ya’ll on Minecraftiplist.com). I saw the effort ya’ll put into the lore and figured it would be worth a shot! Plus, the progression system looks neat. (I really want to work toward a lineage weapon build, seems cool!)(Max. 1) Were you referred by someone? If so, please provide their in-game username: Nope
(Optional) Introduce yourself if you’d like, as well as any creations you want to share (e.g. art, builds, skins): I’m Gameboy, here for vibes and shenanigans! I tend to express creative inspiration through writing, and have been doing text rp for a little over eight years at this point (With a couple short-lived attempts at getting a DnD group together). I love making inhuman creatures of all types, and though my time is fairly limited I hope to meet all ya’ll's creations. :>

In-Character
Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”
How do you respond (in character)? (250 word minimum - please make sure to include at least three references to our lore in your response, with two coming from different pages in the Compendium. Two of the three selected should also be in-depth, avoid simply name-dropping lore terms. Tie the terms into your character's backstory. Why are they important to them?)
Opening his mouth for a moment to try to deny the woman’s read on him, Arachmir only sighs instead. Tucking away the trinket he was most definitely nervously fiddling with into a pouch on his waist to give her his full attention. His deep violet eyes meeting the elder’s, bent with a trepid grin.
“I won’t deny an accurate read, it’s my first time being this far from home. Even with the long road it has been, I’m not completely comfortable yet. Back in Fireborne there were always friends and family nearby, add to that the difficulty in feeling fear when you’re marching with Greatlings standing tall at your side… it’s unnerving to be alone out here.” Their eyes fall to their blackened hands, shiny orange scales lining his arms above his wrists. As if ruminating on them, he murmurs, “That some see Fey-Touched as bad luck didn’t help matters, as well.”
Arachmir pauses for a beat, then chuckles at themself, “But then, you asked more than that, forgive my nerves, please. I’m coming to the Southern Reach for a mix of reasons. Of which… I guess the primary reason is that news of how untamed the area is reached my community, and I was allowed to set out on a crusade of sorts. It’s a sort of Fireborne tradition, to move somewhere wild and clear it of beasts. I was always possessed of a wanderlust, and it felt like a way to finally prove myself to the Spirit of the Fire Dragon, so I was sent out with cheers and well-wishes.” He reaches down to his waist to feather his fingers over a beautiful, sturdy lantern, wistfully commenting that, “They even made me this, to make sure I had a light in my darkest trials.”
They grin happily, then a touch manically. Looking around and leaning in toward the older woman to imply something conspiratorial. “Of course, they also wished me luck for another reason. I’ve been a smith and a tinkerer since I could hold a hammer, but there wasn’t much else I could learn back home. So with The Great Disappearance opening up the Aedall’s homeland to all comers, with all that territory full of potential secrets and materials left behind, with the strengths of ancient history left abandoned to be discovered? I had to be one of the people to come down and explore it. My own goal is to make the perfect weapon, to offer its schematic to the Spirit of the Fire Dragon to prove myself worthy to carry its strength.”
Arachmir chuckles and leans back into his seat, absently fiddling with his lantern now. “It’s a hell of an opportunity, you know? So I’m nervous, and excited, and missing home, and itching to start work, and feeling everything all at once.” Her questions answered, they look to the elder to sate his own curiosity about herself. The two chatting for a while as they travel.
