Took a while though, so many pages XD — In-Character Read the following prompt: The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands. “Nervous?” You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sitting near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes. “I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in. “Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”   “Really? I came just for the adventure of exploring the world. I am often called an oddball because I don’t really set goals for myself! I just… wander around until something catches my eye. I grew up in a little town as an orphan, so really, any amount of excitement is more than enough for me.” Eris smiles and kicks her feet a little in idle thought. “I am pretty often shunned for my strange appearance, but I don’t mind. I like the look I’ve chosen for myself. I wanted to explore the Mist Isles first, but I can’t sail a boat to save my life, and I couldn’t get anyone to take me. So I decided to explore the Southern Reach instead! It took ages for me to get through the wall, though, with how tight security is. I ended up hitching a ride by hiding in some merchant’s crate of fruit. Even that almost didn’t work!” Eris chuckles and runs a hand through her hair, taking a deep breath of the surrounding air. “That’s a lot of talking from me, though, and I am more than certain you’re probably tired of listening to me ramble. You asked why I came to the Reach? Well, the reason I chose to come here instead of anywhere else is because of this!” Eris pulls a battered card from her pocket. “Recognize it? It’s a divining card! Specifically VI, The Spire. I found it lying on the road by chance while I was pondering where I should go since I couldn’t get to the Mist Isles. If finding a card used for fortune-telling isn’t a sign to visit a specific location, I don’t know what is! So that’s my goal. I am going to go see the Spire. Not sure what I’ll do after that, though.” Eris goes silent for a moment before the stranger asks a follow-up question about why she puts so much faith in a card. “Dunno. I’ve always had a fondness for cards. I’ve used ’em to make decisions all my life! They’ve even helped me avoid a few nasty scrabbles. Either way, I should be off now! May the Sun shine upon you, miss!” — Character Name: Eris Serfor Character Race: Human Character Age: 18  Brief Physical Description: A lively young lady with a bubble to her walk. Eris has fair skin and grey-ish blue eyes. Her hair, whilst naturally a rather dull blonde color, is dyed using a mixture of flowers to result in a color that rather closely matches her eye color, if not a little more vibrant than she intended it to be.
