OOC Minecraft Username: Haloayla Are you at least 18 years old?: Yes, 21. Have you read the rules? (Link): Yes(Optional) How did you hear about Avalore?: Through searching for a roleplay server on planetminecraft.(Max. 1) Were you referred by someone? If so, please provide their in-game username: No, but I found the server with my friend Brsssh. (Optional) Introduce yourself if you’d like, as well as any creations you want to share (e.g. art, builds, skins): Hiya! 4+ years ago I use to be super active in mcrp, and had done for a long time, but as all the servers I use to know began to lose activity, and I also grew up I stepped away from it all for a long while. After talking with old friends I wanted to get back into it. I'm huge into building in minecraft, and back in the day I also use to make skins! Here are two of my most recent builds that I am very proud of! — In-Character Read the following prompt: The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands. “Nervous?” You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes. “I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in. “Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?” How do you respond (in character)? (250 word minimum - please make sure to include at least three references to our lore in your response, with two coming from different pages in the Compendium.  Two of the three selected should also be in-depth, avoid simply name-dropping lore terms. Tie the terms into your character's backstory. Why are they important to them?) Jacqueline's gaze traced the rolling hills of the Southern Reach, the soft sway of the wagon matching the rhythm of her thoughts. The open land stretched endlessly under the clear sky, a beauty that both unsettled and inspired her. She offered a gentle smile to the kindly woman. "A little, perhaps," she admitted. "It is my first time venturing this far south, and the land... it is unlike anything I have known. In the Midlands, where I was raised, life revolves around trade and the bustling towns of the Valks, and I have always found comfort in their order and traditions." Her voice grew softer, her eyes briefly clouded with memory. "But order is not always safety. When the fire took my family's vineyard, everything I thought unshakable crumbled in a single night. It was Cedric who carried me from the flames and down the eastern road until the dawn broke over the Doigt Céruléen. Without him, I would not be here now to look upon these hills." Her gaze shifted toward Cedric, who seemed deep in thought, clocked out of this conversation. She tried to hold her smile, but it faltered - she knew were his mind was at, causing her mind to also bring her back to that day. Her hand rose to set below her neck, her lungs never worked the same since that day. The flames and smoke that burnt with an unforgiving rage engulfed her home, and her beloved parents. She blinked rapidly, as if to wake herself from those thoughts, bringing her attention back to the woman. She adjusted the folds of her dress, her voice steady once more. "The Reach feels different. Untamed, yes, but in that I see possibility. My family's name nearly ended in the fire, and I cannot let it be forgotten. Here, where so much is still unclaimed, there is room to shape something lasting. I would see our name endure, and in time, be spoken with respect again." Her expression, while somewhat strained from all she had been pondering on this trip, lifted - showing her determination, her inner strength to continue to endure.  Her gaze softened, as if imagining the possibilities ahead. "I hope to learn from those I meet along the way, perhaps find work within the merchants in the Spire, and grow into the person I aspire to be. My parents, true Valkians, taught me honour, skill, perseverance... values I hold close. The Reach gives me the chance to live those lessons fully, to build something of my own that would make them proud. To carry our name forward, even here, far from the vineyards where it was first sown." Her eyes flickered toward Cedric, still deep in thought beside her, and her expression warmed. "He believes I am destined for more than even I dare imagine. Perhaps he is right. Perhaps the Reach is where I will finally find out." her gaze lingered on him for some time as her story came to an end. She smiled, yet her eyes were sad. He was her ride or die, her true companion. The two had been through all too much together, from living a life of great comfort and considerable wealth. Tea parties and walks through guarded vineyards, feasts and dances, to scraping the bottom of the barrel - moving from job to job along their travels just to make ends meat. A life Jacqueline never anticipated to live. Though despite such a contrast to her once comfortable life, she doesn't let it bring her completely down. Her determination holds true. Jacqueline inclined her head politely, her smile returning as she met the woman’s kind gaze. "And you? Tell me your story."   — Character Name: Jacqueline von Hardanger Character Race: Human, Valk Character Age: 23  Brief Physical Description: Jacqueline von Hardanger is a tall, slender Valk woman, standing around 5'9", with long, pale blonde hair and fair skin with a subtle rose undertone. Her delicate features and pale blue eyes convey both intelligence and a quiet sorrow beneath her composed exterior. She dresses in upper middle class dresses that hint at her family's former wealth, though practical enough for travel and hard work. Despite recent hardships, she carries herself with natural poise and understated elegance. Image of Skin and Figura Model: I currently don't have a Figura model, and only just recently learnt of the mod, but in the mean time here is the standard minecraft skin I have to use! Here is the skin I plan to use however I think I will spend a bit more time texturing the skin and likely making it a touch darker so she looks a less ghostly haha.
