OOC Minecraft Username: JaysterMoons Are you at least 18 years old?: Yes! (22 — 01/30/2004) Have you read the rules? (Link): Yes!How did you hear about Avalore?: From a friend who is telling me about their character! I got interested as well and decided to join along! Were you referred by someone? If so, please provide their in-game username: In a way, I guess you can say apoplectic_atom was the reason! Introduce yourself if you’d like: Hello! My name is Jayster (like Jester!) and I use any pronouns except she (you can default to they/them or he/him!) I also use xenopronouns hy/hymn (pronounced like “hi”/”him”, very similar to he/him) which are optional, but I would forever appreciate anyone who wants to use them for me!I am a long term D&D player who has most of their experience with roleplays on a Discord Westmarch format (with MUCH more time spent worldbuilding), with roleplaying on other platforms very rough at first so please be patient with me haha ‘:D BUT I am very eager to try and have fun meeting new people! I am usually an explorer and a semi-builder on Minecraft, so more often than not you will see me exploring great distances fighting monsters, as well as collecting all sorts of goodies! — In-Character Read the following prompt: The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands. “Nervous?” You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes. “I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in. “Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?” How do you respond (in character)? (250 word minimum - please make sure to include at least three references to our lore in your response, with two coming from different pages in the Compendium.  Two of the three selected should also be in-depth, avoid simply name-dropping lore terms. Tie the terms into your character's backstory. Why are they important to them?) /’Nervous?’/   To the sudden voice breaking through the rhythmic rocking, the greatling raised their hands to wipe at their eyes, pushing away the drowsiness. Even now that the stranger was sitting up and moving under their own power, one would have a hard time gauging their gender. Their clothing was so foreign as to give no clues—soft, mead-colored trousers that gathered at the ankle and a dark, sleeveless tunic the color of ebony. He (or she?) was clearly an adult but his face was beardless as a youth, no creases that showed prominent aging. Her hair that went well past the tailbone in varied bunches held together by gold bands, a common article of attire within the ashlands and the clans present there.   He stretched his hands downwards to hang between their parted knees, interlocked and left to hang as he focused on the kind hearted elder.  "Hardly," she cleared her throat, speaking in a pleasant baritone that was still scratchy with sleep. Mirroring a broad and more enthusiastic smile in return. "I’ve been looking forward to this trip for a long time."    In fact, it has been years since he had anticipated this particular trip to the Reach. The elder wasn’t wrong when she assumed it was her first time after all. He mulled over his plans within his head for once he would arrive. Gazing at the surrounding foliage of the meadow as it takes on a more verdant hue, the pale glow of the rising sun shines against various shrubs and wisps of grain. It was a breathtaking sight, very contrasting in atmosphere in comparison to the bastion’s isolated glade. She recalled the memory of trees lining the path, with their gnarled branches and sparsely scattered autumn leaves. The scent of wet bark and rich soil was always prominent whenever she visited, mostly sourced from the hotsprings that were nearby.    Hálogi sat up, shifting away from their own reminiscing as she focused once more to her traveling talk-buddy. Her hands moved up almost as if to scratch her head, but withdrew it last second as soon as her fingers touched the sulfur point. That would’ve been a disaster should he have let that action unfold.   “The- call of adventure you can say? I’ve never been this far south before now.” she replied, her tone in the best form of ‘casual’ she could give. Yet she wore that same grin, if not grown twice the size that betrayed how she truly felt. “It’s really cold here, now that I think of it. We don’t get many travelers up where I’m from in the Ashlands, it gets harsh for those who are not used to it. I’ll miss it, but it’ll always be there waiting for my return home.” He hummed in thought, leaning back on the hardwood curve of the caravan’s frame. “Not without a story to bring back. I’m looking for a real challenge to overcome, to test the strength the dragon had granted. It is the most honorable for such a trip.”   A mighty warrior of his clan. . . now that is a legacy that he wanted to have. There was a fond melting smile as he daydreamed about it, coming back to his clan with broad proud shoulders adorned with hunting trophies and battle scars. The Great Hálogi surely had a ring to it. . .   Right, he was talking to someone. Her smile goes sheepish to the woman upon realizing, giving a wobbled polite smile as they bow back. “Unnskyld meg- excuse me, mad’am. We have yet to meet, what do they call you?” Usage of AI to generate, modify or translate the writing on your application will result in denial of your whitelist. She doesn’t mind, in fact is quite endeared by the nickname.)  Character Race: Half Fireborne Greatling / Half Fireborne Wetlands Fey-Touched Character Age: 22 Brief Physical Description: Logi is a strikingly tall (7’4”) and muscular fireborne greatling/fey-touched with opal white hair and citrus honey yellow eyes. He wears a sleeveless black shirt, baggy pants, well worn leather boots, a bracer,  and a sandy sash with tumbled glass beads that wraps around his waist and left shoulder. His hair is always in asymmetrical bubble braids held with gold bands, perfectly framed within dark ram horns with yellow natural sulfur rock growth most prominent on her horns and crowned on her head (with a light freckle dusting in dark grey and soft yellow akin to the stones).  Image of Skin and Figura Model: Credits go to both valskyrie (hair base) and WaterDruppel (clothing base) on Planet Minecraft! Art will come eventually hehe
