On the town notice board, a sign, previously belonging to the Serpent's tail, has been painted over in red and is dangling precariously from some twine and a nail made of a particularly thick thorn. McIvy’s Trashure Trove NOW OPEN If you have anything you no longer use, want to get rid of, and want to get a little coin for, I will buy it. The Reclamation (a.k.a. “The Garden”) Source unknown “The discarded will inherit the world. Let rot do what kings cannot.” - Gerry McIvy The Reclamation is an organisation that teaches that all things unwanted and abandoned, be it flora, fauna, objects, or people, will eventually reclaim the world. Nothing is permanent, and it is all but guaranteed that eventually nature will come for what was built. In this line of thought, trash is treasure, rot embodies the truth, and moss in the cracks of things shows the patience of nature. This world does not belong to those who built upon it; Civilisation is a temporary crust on layers and layers of decay. The goal of the Reclamation is, therefore, to prepare the world for its namesake and make the people aware that nature finds a way.  Their base of operations is the sewers/underburrows of the town as well as a small storefront which functions as a little pawnshop that buys and sells people’s trash, grows mosses, algae, and all sorts of fungus (totallynotdrugs). However, the true Reclamation begins below: in the sewers, the rot-pits, the sludgy remains, and will rise slowly, reclaiming everything from the roots upward.

On the town notice board, decorated with live moss and what looks like pink crayon drawings of mushrooms, a peculiar advertisement is posted upon some piece of parchment. Birth. “Squint. Draw your wasteful drooling eyes to a time before it divided itself into years and days, when unherely claws of stone scraped our realm to form mountains (agonised screeching soil: Bleeding), came heralding the birth of us mulched saints. We, blissful nature that like the umbilical cord around the world’s neck, promised to choke out folk before this haphazard babe of ruin could take its first breath. Yet, before much time passed, with the rocks upon rocks upon rocks upon rocks your call homes, that choking cord was unduly snipped, and the child now toddles loose. You unknowingly took a promise and unpromisified it. Yet, Rot only takes your dead, Moss patiently waits, lingering in shadows, and Mildew merely watches, heralding the coming of spore. Remember, your kings cannot inherit the world; that which consumes the discarded is always crawling forth. The promise will be kept. Signed, The Mulched Saints” McIvy’s Moss and Trash Emporium (name pending) will soon open in a town near you (this one)! If you, too, love discarded items, want to get rid of your trash for a little bit of cash, or want to talk about how utterly awesome detritivores and other such things are for the health of your personal slice of nature, don’t let your buttocks rot away in a chair and come find me!

OOC Minecraft Username: Jeroxia Are you at least 18 years old?: 29 Have you read the rules? (Link): Yeh(Optional) How did you hear about Avalore?: So, Cthuwuu told me about it (she isn't here). Also, apparently Caitthegr8 is also here, and like Passencore, but he didn't tell me. He's just here.(Max. 1) Were you referred by someone? If so, please provide their in-game username: Passencore (Optional) Introduce yourself if you’d like, as well as any creations you want to share (e.g. art, builds, skins): No, thank you. That sounds like work. — In-Character Read the following prompt: The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands. “Nervous?” You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes. “I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in. “Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?” How do you respond (in character)? (250 word minimum - please make sure to include at least three references to our lore in your response, with two coming from different pages in the Compendium.  Two of the three selected should also be in-depth, avoid simply name-dropping lore terms. Tie the terms into your character's backstory. Why are they important to them?) — The fey-touched little man would look back at the woman with the broadest of bright little smiles. "Well, let me tell you!" he starts. "I've been across this continent with my Falstoner caravan, and they've passed through the Reach quite a few times. I saw that large Spire from the back of the wagon, and well, I just got curious! Especially given that /apparently/ there's been a group of folks that just done vanished and there was a large column of smoke that rose from the town but a few months ago. Wild!" as the wagon bumps on the road, the little man bounces along with the bumps, almost weightlessly. Rather than complaining, it just seemed to make him giggle. Everything about Gerald, the fey-touched, seemed happy to be here.  He then continued his story. “My life’s been a bit of a tumultuous one, to be quite frank. I’ve never had a place to settle and truly make my own. The urge to get my feet on the ground and get rooted proper has been with me for the last couple’f years now, and well- what time is better than this very moment?” He did not wait for an answer. “Exactly. Make the moment your moment! Every moment for your moment. That’s what I have been taught, at least. Ever since I’ve been little, my mother’s told me to make something of my life, and what better place to do it in than a place where there’s tales of something odd happening in terms of strange activity and something about an emperor’s golden buttocks being from here?”  The half-man dusted himself off and then hopped off the wagon and hopefully into a new life! Character Name: Gerard McIvy Character Race: Fey-Touched Character Age: 19 Brief Physical Description: He is just a short guy (2"5'). Skinny with pale skin. Has a black hat with a peacock's feather in it, and striking blue eyes that stare out from 'neath the brim of it.
