The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands. “Nervous?” You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes. “I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in. “Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?” How do you respond (in character)? Well.. I come from afar, a place called Camelonia. There was a war, we fought till the very end but I think im one of the last of our breed who made it out of there alive. I am looking for a new start, a new life entirely. Perhaps I could learn more about the supposedly extinct culture of Aedall as well.. I've been interested to learn more since I was a youngling.. My grandmother used to tell me and my brother stories from the lands of the Reach and the Aedall times. She told us some of our past relatives or ancestors were one of the few outsiders who they let in on their mysterious ways.. I was told that there is a place called the Pearl Coast, or Heebta’luul as the locals say I believe.. This place has the most similar climate to my homelands.. also the vibrant culture is a blessing for a camel-human like me.. I tend to stick from the crowd like a sore thumb sometimes.. So thats where I shall be headed, I guess.. I am still very lost and confused as you might tell.. Maybe Lady Luck could help me get started on my new journey here.. also a tale from my grandmother's.. But she believes this Lady Luck made certain types of traders and explorer's mad rich and famous for their skills or something like that..
