There're a fair few different positions that can be filled, and I'll be seeking out a pretty broad range of professions and expertise - more on that below. Farmers, Herbalists, and Botanists - if you've any experience with working alongside plant life and nature, you'd be a big help with caring for the projects I've set up around The Spire as well as future farmland. You'd be hired on as agricultural specialists to ensure we - and the rest of The Spire - have good quality produce available to use. Expect to be working on growing fruit, herbs, and various crops that we'll need.Alchemists - Bit of an odd one, but if you've any experience with brewing you're just as vital to things as the folks being asked for above. Your role is pretty simple, as you'll be helping to make the Brewery's products. From preparation, to brewing or distilling, to ageing; I'll need your help every step of the way.Craftsmen & Craftswomen - While mostly looking for Carpenters and Glassblowers, I'm open to hiring other kinds as well. Your role will be to act as an in house supplier of barrels, bottles, and various other items along those lines. You're role is just as important as anyone else's, as the more of the requested items we can make - the more we can sell!Warriors - That's right, I'm also lookin' to hire you strong combat types. Not for thuggery, and hopefully not for fighting; but to act as guards for the Property, Trade Caravans, and our agricultural locations both communal and private. Perhaps not the most thrilling, but you're free to act on part-time rules and do whatever else you please outside of patrols.Basic Labourers - For you folks without any particular skills, I'll gladly hire you to do labour out in the fields and within the brewery. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands. “Nervous?” You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes. “I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in. “Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?” How do you respond (in character)? (150 words minimum)She’d settle her deep red eyes onto the woman, being made to look downwards with as friendly a look as she could muster despite her tired state; flashing a charming smile before speaking.“Me, nervous? Never, just excited-” She’d begin, going to shake the old woman’s hand in greeting but finding the space to do so unavailable. She’d pause, offering up a lighthearted chuckle. “Ahaha . . Seems I’ve little choice but to forgo manners, a little big I’m afraid.” True to Ghislaine’s word, being of both Greatling descent and on the fuller side of figures meant she far and away took up the most room on the crowded carriage with the rickety wagon leaning more on the side where she sat. The woman didn’t seem to mind, however, as she laughed in return.“No worries, dear! Hard to move for all of us, though you seem like the strong type . .” The old woman began to lead into another question, Ghislaine idly clocking her conversation partner’s eyes do a once over her appearance. “Were you a warrior, perchance?”“No, no . . I was once, in a way. Had to retire due to injury, I’m afraid.” She’d use her eyes to gesture to a large scar that ran across her neck and shoulder. “Bit young, I know. My mother was more than happy to drag me to work in her tavern, though.”“Oh, that must’ve hurt quite a bit, dear!” The old woman seemed genuinely concerned as she looked at the old wound. “You say your family owns a tavern? I couldn’t have guessed from lookin’ at ya!” Ghislaine grinned lightly in response to the obvious jest. “Well . . can’t deny I ended up enjoying cooking the food as much as I loved eating it! So much so I’m headed off to open my own.”The Old woman would smile, nodding sagely a few times as she received the answer to her question. “My, that sounds like a wonderful idea, dear! Do you have a name for it- oh, and a name for yourself?”The wagon trundled along, the pair silent for a moment as the larger of the two was deep in thought. In the distance, the spire was pulling into view.“Ah- Name’s Ghislaine, a pleasure -! As for the tavern . . Well, I’ve yet to decide.” — Character Name: Ghislaine Sirentide Character Race: Arsa Sidhe-Greatling Character Age: 32 Brief Physical Description: Standing at six-foot-seven in height, Ghislaine is someone who often stands above crowds as much as she stands out in them due to her portly figure and curved Greatling horns. While her size in all dimensions can create an intimidating presence, her arms still bearing signs of thick muscle, she holds herself with a relaxed demeanour that quickly makes any kind of concern fade away. This is further accentuated by the friendly smile that’s permanently fixed to her lips.Her face is framed by silvery-white hair that falls to her nape in gentle curls, with the left side shaved close and braided along the undercut. The hairstyle she chose complimented her once sharp and handsome features, but still suits her perfectly even with added weight having softened them to a gentler look. Her almond-shaped eyes are a deep, ruby red and bear the slit pupils of Greatlings; holding a certain intelligent glimmer to them that might make one think there's more to her than she lets on.In terms of style, Ghislaine has a focus on function - but still holds fashion in high regard. Her deep tanned skin is adorned with floral tattoos from head to toe, the use of vibrant amber ink contrasting against the cold tone inherited from her Greatling father. Her outfits tend to consist of blouses in plain whites and blacks, alongside legwear such as trousers that allow for ease of movement; more often that not nowadays, she’ll have an apron over the front, embroidered with floral designs. Continuing on with the floral theme of decoration are the several rings and necklaces she wears, alongside various facial piercings - each piece amongst the favourites of her past spoils.
