The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands. “Nervous?” You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes. “I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in. “Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?” How do you respond (in character)? (150 words minimum) Jin lifted his head as the woman made her query, waking him from his daze. "Hm?" he stared, grinned, then spoke as if it had been rehearsed. "Oh, we've just got off our boat from the isles, miss. We're here to discover our purpose in life." He clapped an arm around the taller man beside him. Kadhab sent a glance her way but did not offer her anything beyond a polite smile. He tensed as their attention bared down on him, then relaxed as Jin took it away. "See, usually, a fella' would go off on his own, but this one here is my twin, so I've got to drag him along." Jin looked fondly at his brother, who gained some warmth in his expression. "Oh, it's been a wonderful time so far. He's not much of a chatter now, but just wait 'till you've got some liquor in him!" Finally, a sound came from Kadhab's side of the bench: a hummed laugh as he continued to avert his gaze.
