(Optional) Were you referred by someone? If so, who: A bit odd, but I watched Redlyne's video of the old RP fantasy world called HollowWorld. I used to love those types of servers, so I thought I might want to get back into it.
(Optional) Introduce yourself if you’d like, as well as any creations you want to share (e.g. art, builds, skins): I don't have many creations to show, but my skin is heavily inspired by pirate attire. I've always been a sucker for a pirate style outfit and a lot of content related to pirates. Other than that, I'm currently in graduate school studying Geophysics. That takes up most of my time but I always carve some time out to relax and do some of the things I enjoy. Most of which is playing games, but I like playing soccer and going to the gym too. I'm always down for a good conversation and looking forward to meeting some awesome people.

Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”
How do you respond (in character)? (150 words minimum - please make sure to include some references to our lore in your response!)
For a brief moment, I stare blankly at the older woman, before managing to mutter out:"I've been thinking of that same exact question the entire ride over. To be perfectly honest with you, ma'am, I'm not too sure I can give you a straight answer."
"My father, a Mistan like myself, used to travel down this way to the Reach for weeks...even months at a time. Each time he returned, he had a gleam in his eye that only I seemed to notice...or really care about. He used to tell me tales of what he was searching for."
I pause momentarily, as to reminisce about the late nights in my childhood home with my father. Floods of memories of him passionately explaining the Siren Serene pour in over the next few seconds.
"I come from a family of sailors, so most of our time is spent on the sea. Making trade voyages or allowing travelers to take passage on our ships, for a fee of course. But my father was different. He always was more of the adventurous type, never really wanting to settle for the relatively calm life of a trade sailor. Always off in his own world it seemed, which bugged my mother to no end. She still loved him though, even after he "adventured" himself to an early grave. As Mistan culture dictates, one can either choose to call the Mist Isles home, spending most of one’s time there helping out the community of Mistans or one can call to a life of adventure, which is what my father decided to do. Exhaustion and bad genetics is what the doctor of our port town seemed to call it, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it goes much deeper than that."
I let out a sigh and take in my surroundings once more as we stride along in the wagon. Slight remembrances of my family playing in my mind as a hint of uneasiness passes along my face. Only for a moment, however, as I look back at the old woman...a soft smile finding its way onto the corners of my mouth.
I continue by saying...
“He told stories like no other person I’ve ever met, but the main thing he mentioned was putting a crew together to find the source of Siren Serene’s ‘power’.”
"Regardless, the one thing he left me other than his fair share of the family business, are a few contacts he knew by name in this region of the world. He told me to seek them out and continue what he had begun. Now...for better or for worse...I left my home in search of these few individuals who might've known my father more than me. My mother will surely be furious to find out that I left her and my younger brother to front all of the trade work for the foreseeable future, but I can't seem to shake the thought of that gleam in my fathers eye each time he returned. What was he after? What could he possibly have found here? Why am I dumping all of this information on to a elderly woman whom I have just met? I'm not too sure...but I'll be dammed if I don't find out, ma'am."

Brief Physical Description: Roughly 6 feet in height and around 200lbs. Physique can be described as toned but not extremely muscular, an average young adult build that has seen lots of physical labor. His hair is auburn with some strands of blonde mixed in mostly near the roots of his hair, which is styled mostly unkept. He has deep green eyes and freckles along his nose and all over his arms. The only physical abnormalities he has is the wound on his left eye, rendering it useless.
