Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”
Raine: "Well... after having to leave everything I have even known all my life behind due to the lack of any sustainable farmland or livestock back home in a nation in the far West from here of course it'll be difficult for me to come to terms with." Raine stares down at his hands holding them tightly
Raine: "However, the fear I face of the unknown is rivaled by that of a sense of excitement and wonder of what new adventures I will face and people I will meet, such as you. The tower as well being a source of mystery and intrigue due to it's sudden appearance & what it could hold has a tight grasp on my mind." Raine warmly smiles thinking of what's to come
Older Woman: "Such a shame to have to abandon home at such a young age" The older woman sighs but still hods a warm smile
Older Woman: "Could you perhaps tell me a bit more about yourself dearie? That is if you don't mind me asking" The Older Woman says with a warm smile
Raine: "No no, I don't mind at all. Suppose I could start with my hometown and as well as family. I used to live in a coastal village along with my father, a man who is the town's chief guard, having taught me how to hunt as well as take care of myself. Along with that due to the village all being close knit we all taught one another each different skills and figure out what suited each person which was best suited in helping the village."
Older Woman: "Oh? And what was it that you were best at dearie?"
Raine: "well, I had to drill Agriculture, fishing, and Hunting into my mind along with skills to be able to take care of myself as well as taking care of the village, however I did thoroughly find out that I do enjoy and am able to decently well make clothes along with being able to work with wood" Rain states as he shows the Older Woman some of the pieces he has created
Older Woman: "If you are looking for land to cultivate new farmland I would recommend going to the Eastern continent to which the Faded Steppe resides in the mid to south-east which is an area that mostly seems to be barren with an endless field and farmlands as far as the horizons can see, there are some few villages strewn around every once in a while each home to their very own unique and special styles of agriculture. The Important part of the Steppe is said to be a location called Stonebrook, It is said to be a place only the village elders know the location of and are said to convene there to talk about issues along with other matters that involve the Steppe."
Older Woman: "Or if you'd like some place more closer to nature you could chose to head to the Midlands which lies on the mid-west end of the continent with expanses of lush forest where the heartland of the ancient civilization Arsa Sidhe resided, though now it is now the land where Mariza resides which is the Largest City of the Eastern Continent with it being a major trading hub due to It's location. It is located just North of The Wall that separates the Midland from The Southern Reach . . ."
The older woman continues to speak of the Continent and it's rich filled history with pure glee and delight to be able to speak of the lands with such enthusiasm, almost as if she were to be a scholar who had researched the continent her whole life. As we continue on our way to the continent we continue with the conversation as well as share tips with one another about weaving clothes and cooking recipes for the majority of the remaining journey to what would be our new homeland.
(Gonna stop here or I might as well use this as my whole character backstory sheet, lol)
Character Name: Raine Dawnwind
Character Race: 50/50 Human & Wetland/River Fey-Touched Falstoner
Character Age: 19
Brief Physical Description: Approximately 5'9", Has the odd cut & bruise from helping with livestock & hunting wild predators in order to protect his home. Was born with aquamarine blue colored scales which run along parts of his arm & legs which slowly has grown as he's matured. Though one eye seems to have stayed the hazel color of his father, the other is as Deep blue as that of the deepest oceans which is to be assumed is from his mother (If this is okay & allowed, if not then both will just be deep blue). Dirt brown hair with a streak or two of white & blue occasionally throughout. Two rings, one on each hand, One black ring with shining red specks that reflect with the heat of the sun, and one Green ring with the style of an evergrowing flower with a leaf design that stretches the full way around, both seeming to be family heirlooms passed down through generations.
