The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands. “Nervous?” You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes. “I can tell it’s your first time. Mira tilts her head to the older woman, eager to explain her story with a smirk on her face. "You cannot tell can you?" she said, her voice carrying a rhythm. "I am from the west, where we sing with the waves." Mira glanced down before making playful eye contact with the woman "Despite my family's wishes, I have chosen the more wearying path of a Mistan" She looked down upon her journal given to her by her mother, reminding her of home. Yet her path was different than others. The blank pages had stories to be filled with, she thought, "I am not sure what I am looking for" Mira admitted, her eyes blinking nervously before straightening her neck "But, I'll know it when I see it.
