There was a quiet to the place that didn’t exist in the old one.
The shadows in the morning were all wrong, their unfamiliarity always her first thought. As the morning marks its welcome, the air carries serenity into the bedroom.
A breath of it makes her cough and slowly sit up in her bed, to her body’s agony. Every muscle screams its protests, all just for a frown in reply. Her eyes shift to the grey door of many tones, light hair gently ruffling in her gaze’s path.
She'd need to get up and open it, eventually.
