Plain text:    Spoiler The poster reads as follows: People of the Spire,  I am the Crimson Oni, servant to our Arch-Thief, the Argent Maiden. We seek your attention, for we have established a new guild, one that will fill a hole in the services available to those in our town. The Thieves’ Guild is now in operation, though we are not the street urchin criminals like most of our profession. We will not rob from the innocent people of this town, nor bring them any harm. The Guild will only carry out contracts that fit our moral code, and our list of services includes, but is not limited to: robbery,  information gathering/selling, planting items, trespassing, vandalism, and breaking and entering. If you are interested in joining or contracting our services, please continue reading. If not, I bid you a good day. The Code of the Thieves’ Guild is as follows: It is unacceptable to steal from or harm innocents. They are to not be targets of the guild. We do not seek personal wealth. Our services are for those in need, and payment is not guaranteed. We shall only accept contracts that are morally good. We commit our crimes to avenge those who have been wronged, have no one else to turn to, or do not wish to have prying eyes in their business. Privacy of our members is sacrosanct. While carrying out any duties for the Thieves’ Guild, one must be disguised and only be referred to as their Thief Title.  Members of the guard, or those who would aid them, are forbidden from joining or contracting the guild, as our work breaks multiple laws.  For those wishing to seek our services, write your request in a letter, and tell the mail pigeons to deliver it to the Argent Maiden. They will know whom you speak of. For your request to be considered, it must contain the following information: Your name, a way to contact you, the request, and a payment offer, although the Guild is willing to do pro bono work for special cases. Once your contract is accepted, you will be contacted by a member or members of the guild for further information.  For those who wish to join the Thieves’ Guild, either send a letter to the Argent Maiden as well with your name and a way to contact you, or express your interest publicly. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands. “Nervous?” You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes. “I can tell it’s your first time. Why are they important to them?) “I do this…then this….then… ugh I’ll have to try again.” Beaux muttered to himself, nose deep into a book titled How to Juggle. “Oh hello!” a bright smile beaming even through his mask. “Could you repeat what you said?”  The lady repeated herself in the same kindly tone.  “Ohhhh why I’m coming to the Reach! That’s a fun question!” Beaux tilted his head to think deeply, and as he did so the bells on his cap gave off a faint jingle. “I came to the Reach…” he raised his head proudly “...to become the best jester in the land!” scooting closer to the lady, he began to unfold his life story up until this point.  “I was born in Ko’ram and lived there for most of my life.” His eyes began to sparkle as he continued, “My family was considered “outcasts” there, mainly because my father was horribly disfigured so he was not able to pursue being a warrior…Or anything of use for that matter. The people of our village looked down upon our family because of that. The people in our village also looked down on me…”  He looked down slowly and sadly, “because of my career choice. There are seldom jesters in Ko’ram and many pressured me to become a warrior, but I just couldn’t imagine myself doing so. Being a jester feels to be my true calling in life.”  He tilted his head back up and flashed a cheesy smile, “But I think they were just jealous at how talented I am!” He attempted to stand in the wobbly wagon, but immediately tripped and fell to his knees  “Haha…anyways..” his face grew hot from embarrassment as he brushed off his knees and continued on, “I’m also a little clumsy, as you can see, which didn’t mix well with the mountains of Kor’am.” He chuckled to himself.  “As a young boy I had always admired the Valk travellers that would come into town every now and then! I would constantly daydream about how exciting it must be to travel around the world, especially as a jester, to spread my joy and humour. And then I heard them mention the College of Jestorial Arts in Mariza.”  Now looking up at the bright blue sky with a mix of sadness and fondness, he continued, “Once I was 16, I joined the travellers to go to Mariza, so I could pursue my passion. My father bestowed upon me our family blade as I departed.”  He slowly sat himself down, retrieving the heirloom from his sack to show it to the lady. In a somber tone, he continued on, “I spent a year there, everyone was so funny and lovely, but I guess I just…wasn’t. They kicked me out because I ‘wasn’t fit to be a jester.’ I can't believe that to be true though…” A tear fell from his eye and he sniffled.  “I thought about returning home, but then I had heard about the Spire before I had been kicked out!” His voice grew more excited and his posture straightened.  “It had to be fate that I had heard about it. It’s a new land, new opportunities will arise, and most importantly…It’s a fresh slate for me to pursue my dream!”  He intertwined his hands with the lady’s and got very close to her face, basically touching nose to nose, “If I’m going to become the best jester it has to be here, I can feel it in my bones!” Almost shaking the entire wagon from his excitement, and with a serious look on his face, he finished, “I’m going to make my family proud, I just know it.” — Character Name: Beaux Character Race: Fey-Touched, Mountain Heritage Character Age: 18 Brief Physical Description: Beaux is a tiny little guy, standing at a whopping 4'. He was born female, so his feathers (mountain heritage) are naturally gray, but he dyes them red (based on cardinals). Unlike many Fey-Touched, his brown hair is short because he cuts it frequently. His eyes are deep navy blue, but grow paler in the light. He is dressed in a red and black jester's outfit, with a white mask and bells at the tips of his hat and sleeves.
