The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands. “Nervous?” You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes. “I can tell it’s your first time. Tie the terms into your character's backstory. Why are they important to them?) ------------ I feel the cool wind on my skin as the wagon moves over the plains. The sound of the wheels is steady. The wide land of the Southern Reach feels strange, but exciting. It’s so different from what I’m used to. The older woman sitting next to me smiles, her eyes curious. She asks Why did you come to the Reach? I look at her for a moment before answering. I came because I’m looking for something, I say quietly. Im from Uul’san. Its a nice place, but it never felt like home. The magic there is weak. My people, the Arsa Sidhe, have always been connected to the Veil, the place where spirits live and old magic flows. But in Uul’san, the magic has faded. It’s like the land doesn’t speak to us anymore. I look out at the open land again, my thoughts far away. I heard about a place called the Echoing Glade. Some say it’s here, in the Southern Reach. It’s a place where the Veil is thin, where the magic is strong, and you can hear the old songs of my people. The Sidhe used to hear them all the time, but it’s been so long since I felt that connection. I look back at the woman, my face serious but hopeful. I came because I want to find the Glade. I want to feel the magic again, like it used to be. I want to learn more about who I am, and maybe hear the old songs once more. I’ve also heard that the Fey Circles are powerful here, and that they might hold the answers to what I’m searching for. I pause and add, Ive also heard the Starlit Hollow is nearby, a place where the magic flows freely through the land. They say that those who spend time there find clarity, and that the spirits are closer than ever.
