In-Character
Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”
How do you respond (in character)? (250 word minimum - please make sure to include at least three references to our lore in your response, with two coming from different pages in the Compendium. Two of the three selected should also be in-depth, avoid simply name-dropping lore terms. Tie the terms into your character's backstory. Why are they important to them?)

The mans head would begin beaming with noise, his mind trying to isolate and recognize each individual sound that would cross his ear drums. If the voices in his head were already proving to be too much through his years, god forbid he'd deal with this much longer. As the noise began to bellow, buzzing ever so loudly, coupled with the swift motions of people swishing and weaving their way past him, he would place his hand upon his head, wincing slightly as it became too much for him- until, finally, A gentle voice began to reign him back to reality. "Ah ... Good evening Ma'am. You'd be right, im not quite used to all this noise and commotion from home." The man would let out a small sigh before facing towards her, a small grin forming between his lips.
"Ah well, that is a long story." He would chuckle. "If you couldn't tell, I am human. I've been traveling for quite sometime. Looking for ... new opportunity, so to speak. My parents are Valk, stemming from a small homestead near the wall. Never fancied me'self a trader, too much noise ... too much talking." He would begin to chuckle as he spoke. "Truthfully, My expertise comes more in the form of combat." He would begin crossing his arms slightly as he spoke. "Been hearing some noise about some Spire Militia, no clue if im even fit for consideration but- nonetheless, Id rather shoot for that than become some ... haggling merchant screamin' and yellin' every damned day." He would once again allow a chuckle to escape his lips. "Plus ... not only that, I keep hearing words of these beings, er .. Fey I believe is what they's called. ... real magic using fellows. Had some of these "Fey-touched" fellows or whatnot speak to me about them on my travels, couple of falstoners I was trading with, telling me about how some see it as curses and others see it as blessings ... as for me well, I personally wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw em." The man would once again chuckle. "Ah shoot, getting off topic, anyways and well... I got some unexplainable issues goin' on, Im hoping I can maybe find some answers. These Fey beings could maybe help but-" He would sort of shudder a bit "Either way, this probably beats being home... having to visit me extended family ... bunch a walljacks the lot ... er, nothing wrong with em of course. They surely beat the family friends of mine, couple a Greatlings. You ever see Greatlings eyes? Weirdest thing youd ever see in your life. Almost like a cats but ... you know ... only 8 foot tall with skin like a stone wall." The man would stop for a moment. "Kind of ironic alot of them are stonerunners aint it?" He would snicker a bit before sighing, standing up slightly. "Anyways, I best be on the move. Me names Harvey, it was a pleasure, Ma'am." He would extend his hand out for a polite shake.
