The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.

“Nervous?”

You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.

“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.

“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”

How do you respond (in character)? — "Yes, well I came here wanting to learn the history of this town. You see, I am of mistan lineage, though I didn't travel far from the mist isles on account that I am not particularly skilled at sailing compared to my peers." I chuckle nervously, sad that I don't live up to expectations, though happy that I made it this far otherwise. "I have heard tales of the spire, tales of which I wish to see for myself. tales that claim it pierces the heavens like a radiant spear, but with a history of peoples that disappeared like a vivid dream of a past life. I want to uncover the truth of the Aedall..." I pause. A sense of unease clouds my thoughts as all I know being that they disappeared some time ago leaving only their villages and spire behind. "To be honest I'm having a hard time thinking of even the first place to search, let alone if there even is a place to begin." I look back to her, wondering if she has any lead that I may be able to ask of. "What about you? What was the reason you first came here, and what was it like?"

Though, that being said I can't imagine that working on something like this will be easy by any right, so for now I just can't wait to get to the spire in the first place.
