The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”

"It was my father's wish for me to see it someday." *She looks back to see what she can make of the Faded Steppe.* "I was born in South-Western part of the Faded Steppe. That is where I grew up most of my life, until my father Migrated us to the outskirts of Hope’s Watch. He wished to find a notable healer to aid my mother.” *Sorrow can be heard in voice as she spoke about this.* “He was unsuccessful…it took a toll on him for not trying harder. The Spire could have helped from what I hear.” *She turned back looking towards the old woman.* “He saw the land after the disappearance. He told me how there was nothing…but my Fey-Touched Mother to greet him.” *She Paused.* “I took over as head of the family after my mothers passing. My father wasn’t in the mindset for it. He was like that for a few years until passing in Stonebrook.” *A faint smile would appear on the lady's face.* “He told me stories about his home on an island off the shore of the City of Pyo. He spoke of returning there and living out his days. I hope he is at peace now.” “She clutched her bag.* “And yes…I am nervous. I have never faced the world alone without my parents. At least I have the knowledge they bestowed onto me about my cultures, and what once of this land I journey too.” *She saw The Spire, letting out a smile that quickly faded into a worried look.* “I wish you the best, Ma’am. I am Dúveneth.”
