In-Character
Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”
How do you respond (in character)? (250 word minimum - please make sure to include at least three references to our lore in your response, with two coming from different pages in the Compendium. Two of the three selected should also be in-depth, avoid simply name-dropping lore terms. Tie the terms into your character's backstory. Why are they important to them?)
"It is indeed my first time here," Confirmed the monk with a nod, offering a smile. "I have come here to continue the line of my Clan. To establish a new Shrine. I am from the far flung West from a place called Ko'ram. My Clan have always served the Great Clan Moon as tenders to shrines and temples. They rule from a great port and trade flows easily through those warehouses. They, unlike the other Great Clans have an almost republican style of governing, where each minor Clan or town have their own representitive to vote on things or what kind of trade to invest in more. And in turn, they offered protection from those seeking to destroy them. For the commonfolk these temples and shrines serve as locations of neutrality, harmony and knowledge. Now, I am here. Here in the Reach to establish such a place, for I'd like to think it might be needed, but it might prove quite the journey from what I have seen so far.
Fujin fell quiet after that, simply watching people go by. From time to time he looked back upon the old woman, asking questions about the region and if any other from Ko'ram were here.
"I thank you, for this conversation we have had. I have found it enlightening. I will go now, I hope to see you again soon." With that, the man got up, offered a bow, and then left.
Fujin has landed in a strange land, filled with strange people and even stranger customs and ways and yet he firmly clings on to his own culture, now he must find a smith to create a new family blade..—
